Seen this question pop up enough on all the projection/prediction/roster assessment threads that it propably deserves a thread of its own.  Ray, KG, Paul Pierce and JET are gone, and they were the ones with clutch scoring reps in roster`s of the past few seasons. Who steps up now in a 1 possession game with :20 on the game clock next season? I am pinning my hopes on Green mostly with Rondo, the pitbulls and maybe even Canadian Dirk (Olynyk) as our best best bets to carry the load.

I'm thinking the team won't be doing any one-on-one isolations in those last-possession situations.

It's a 1-4 or 1-3 pick and pop play, with either Rondo/Green or Rondo/KO.

Passive tanking at it's best.  We have lacked a clutch scorer for the last 2-3 years.   We have lost 4th quarter leads time and again.  PP was one of the best.   None of these guys are clutch yet in my book.  RR , I love him disappears in the 4th.  JG is the closest thing on this list to one.

PP was the best at being clutch--and the worst with forcing isos rather than using his teammates.

Rondo's always in trouble when he has too much time or over-thinks his shots.

I have no idea why Danny has been so insistent in telling everyone that Olynyk's not going to be a go-to guy.

I don't think Sully would shy away from the hero role, but he may be easier to defend than some in that situation.

Stevens doesn't strike me as a guy who would try to close out every game by forcing the ball to his one guy, which I think is good.  Still, this is clearly Green's year to take that role more than anyone else on the team.

might be a 3-man game with Green, Oly and Sully.  probably with Rondo and Lee on the court.  If Brooks or Crawford make a leap this year, that would help a lot but I don't see it happening.

Hahah yeah I know that! Stevens setting up the last-second play in that championship game back in his Butler days!  ;)

Rondo.

I'm intrigued to see if KO can be that guy too.
