Not sure if this is playing a role in Danny's current thinking. However, if my calculations are correct (as it stands today), we should only have 3 guys under contract in the summer of 2015.

Jeff Green, Gerald Wallace and Courtney Lee. Also, if my calculations are correct, those 3 add up to $24 million in salary (9 mil for Green, 10 mil for Wallace and 5 mil for CLee.)

So, that should leave us with over 30 million in cap space for 2015 if we renounced all our free agents, correct?

I'll leave that up to the cap experts.

Regardless, for all intents and purposes, in 2015 we should be major players in free agency for the first time since the Nixon administration.

Here's a list of marquee players that will be available.
I am hoping Danny already as their agents on speed-dial

-Lamarcus Aldridge
-Kevin Love (player option)
-Marc Gasol
-Carmelo Anthony (if he doesn't opt out, next year.)
-Kyrie Irving/RFA (I would still break the bank on Kyrie. Big fan of his.)
-Zach Randolph
-Rudy Gay
-Tony Parker
-Ricky Rubio

Pretty good class to have cap space for!!

Oh and then there's 2016 where Lebron, Bosh, Noah, Deron Williams, Damien Lillard, Kevin Durant, Al Horford, Anthony Davis and Mike Conley are free agents.

With Lebron and Bosh, that's only if they don't opt out next year.

Only FA I can see signing her is Kevin Love and I dont know why. Of course this is assuming we wont be trying to tank anymore and will be building around young talent. I like A Rondo, Green, Love, Sullinger core.

Oh I agree. I am sure Cleveland won't let another Lebron happen to them. What I am hoping however is that by then if Cleveland still sucks, that regardless of how much money the Cavs offer, that Kyrie will want to take his talents elsewhere ;)

So by opening night 2016, here's my dream lineup

PG-Irving
SG-whoever
SF-Durant
PF-Love
C-Marc Gasol or Al Horford

We'll likely pick up options on Olynyk and Sully. Possibly Fab Melo as well.

Also Avery Bradley - either he'd have extension in place already or he'll be an RFA with qualifying offer. There will also be cap holds in place - including a $16m cap hold for Rondo.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

He's a giant Lakers fan unfortunately. In fact his uncle played for the Lakers.
Did you also know either his father or another uncle was one of the beach boys? 100% serious.
Lakers for Love. Not much can stop it.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
