So letting them rot on a mediocre team were they have to be the go to guys night in and night out barely making the playoffs is better?

I don't like seeing it as much as the next guy. The PP one was tougher to take. But I'd rather them have a shot at a ring then letting them sit hear and get booted out of the first round again. No way we were getting past Indy or Maimi with out a lot of luck like two years ago.

But of course this is your usual DA sucks response. But tell me how many GM's have gotten 4 first round unprotected's and a draft swap for 2, 36 year old+ players and a coach that didn't want to be here?

Ugh!  The Pierce one really kills me.  Look at Dirk, Kobe, and Duncan...their teams are so loyal to them and likely will be to the end.

Not that the Celts aren't loyal to Pierce.  They did trade him to a great situation with KG, and I get that we could not trade KG to the Nets without Pierce, but still it kills me to not see Pierce ride it out with us.

It did help hearing that Pierce was happy with his situation from TMZ!

The silver lining...we can root for the Celts to get ping pong balls, and still pull for Pierce and KG to win it all!

Hard to see Pierce #34 not in a green or white colorway. Might take some time for me getting used to.

I like Pierce taking #34, to me it feels like he is still representing the Celtics even with the Brooklyn uniform.

If they are both happy going to Brooklyn then I'm happy, i mean they have a another chance at a championship and they can do it together. Still they deserved to finish in Green.

Well, they also should've won more than one championship, IMO (2010, 2012.)

Also, I find it hilarious that having Pierce and Garnett traded for value is "losing" them, but the possibility that they would retire in 2 seasons is totally ignored (hint: when they retire, you _really_ lose them; like, for nothing/zip/zero).

Buddy, trust me I was on the same boat for I believe a week. But set emotions aside and look at it again...

Them getting traded puts us in a good position to rebuild quicker and be contenders faster all while both of them gets a shot to get another Championship, further cementing their legacies. Never wanted them getting traded, but for the good of the team and for the good of both of them, it has to be done.
