With the news about Scal joining GS, I also noticed Rasheed was hired as assistant coach with the Pistons.  Haven't seen anybody mention it though, I always thought Sheed would make a good coach, but I'm sure this probably surprises a few people who don't think Sheed is coaching material.

Not quite on the same level as a couple of posters Brad Stevens prediction, but I did say a few weeks ago I thought Sheed would make a good coach.
  ;)

Good for Scal, good for Sheed, maybe Antoine is next  ;D

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I think Sheed will make a very good big man + developmental coach. Often praised for his work with Detroit's young big men while he was there. Great fundamentals both offensively (post game + jump-shooting + passing) and defensively. Boxed out well. Vocal communicator on defense. I think those are all things that will translate well as a big man coach.

Not sure his temperament is well suited to being a head coach though.

That coaching staff is going to have personality if nothing else.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010
