Assuming full health this is what I would do with the current team

PF - Sullinger 20, Bass 20, Wallace 8
C - Olynyk 20, Melo 15, Bass 8, Iverson 5

Did we trade Humphries?

Sully will start, at least at the start of the season. It will take time for KO to get up to speed, I imagine. And probably better for him to do that against the 2nd string guys in the league.
Off of a back surgery, I'm not even sure he'll be ready the start of the season.

Just in case, Dwight Howard began the season and he underwent surgery 2 and a half months later than Sullinger if I'm counting right.

So I think Sullinger has a good chance to be there for the start of the season or near it.

And Lee...

That just a terrible roster he put forth regardless. I'm confident that it wont be on that level of crap.

that depends on what your goals are.

winning games? sully and humphries is probably the way to start the season, then see what develops.

losing games? simple - put fab melo next to sully or bass and watch the losses pile up. i dont advocate this, i am just expressing an opinion on how to lose more games than other teams.

melo would be a great way for that to happen. (ha! philly thinks it can lose more games than us? take THIS!)

No shot-blocking? Minny waived the Steamer three days ago, just throwing that out there.

Please no.

You don't need to be a shot blocker to be a rim defender.

And someone in the top ten in blocked shots can be a poor defender.  cough*AlJefferson*cough

Eventually, I'd like to see what Sullinger/Olynyk could do start.  Really, what does this team have to lose right now?  Sure, they'll be deficiencies defensively but I do think they could mesh well playing together on the offensive end.

I just don't know if Sully will be ready for the start of the season.  You'll probably see Bass/KO.

Would love to see both but realistically we will probably see one paired with a vet, for stability and to showcase for future trades. Can't just bury the older guys on the bench if we want them to hold value. I'm sure they'll get plenty of minutes together, it's a promising if unconventional combo worth exploring.

Let's stop any talk of Sully at center.  Yes, he's probably smart enough and strong enough to play some minutes there like Big Baby could.  However, he's just too freakin' short to play the 5 regularly.

Fully disagree with you. He is 6'9 270 with 7'2 wingspan and can play pf/c role. So what he plays pf then? His lack of quickness will be a bigger detriment as a pf. Olynyk has better mobility for pf spot.

No.  I just forgot him.  Bass 8 at center should be Humphries.

expecting a starting line-up of RR, AB, JG, GW and BB.  the one possible change may be KH in for GW but I doubt it.

This would be a lock if Doc was coaching but with the new guy in charge, he may go young with the starters but I'd still be surprised if he did --> seems like the type to want to let them get their feet wet first before starting them.

one other thing to consider about the starters is that these are the guys we want to move out of town for younger players/picks.  I could see a plan by the organization to showcase the vets to make them look appealing to other teams.

I think Olynyk needs to be a starter. We are LOW and i mean LOOOOOOOW on scoring options. KO could literally be our biggest scoring threat, although i have faith Jeff Green can be a 20ppg guy

Except Wallace is on the record that he's not playing PF anymore since he got three severe concussions in a season and a half or so.
