Anthony told friends after the Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce trade to the Nets, he figured the Knicks would make a play for point guard for Rajon Rondo. Anthony believes Rondo would be the perfect piece and would be super motivated in New York to attempt to knock off Garnett and Pierce.

Instead, the Knicks will return two of their three primary free agents in J.R. Smith, who flopped in the playoffs, and Pablo Prigioni. They didn’t even have enough money in this new CBA to keep their young sniper, Chris Copeland. And they may not have enough to woo aging Elton Brand. Or the cash to get a commitment from competent but hardly scintillating backup point guard Sebastian Telfair. Another Knicks target, point guard Will Bynum, agreed to terms last night to remain in Detroit.

And what exactly could the Knicks offer in return.  I mean I like Shumpert, Novak, and Felton, but they aren't worth Rondo and they have nothing else.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Shumpert and 5 1st round picks over the next 10 years might get me interested.

Yeah, the Knicks have no assets worthy of Rondo.

They have NOTHING to give, but this just shows that other stars want to play with Rondo (probably not in Boston though).

Nice to see how a superstar perceives Rondo but the Knicks have no chips to trade.

Super motivated to knock off KG and Pierce??? Why would Rondo feel "motivated"...KG is one of Rondo's mentor and good friends...and they were traded to the Nets...Rondo is perfect where he is...right here in Boston

Yeah, the Knicks have no assets worthy of Rondo.

I'd be interested in some future draft picks if the Knicks agree to bring back Isiah Thomas as GM.

The Knicks are being described as interested in everyone with a pulse.  MWP if amnestied by the Lakers, Brandan Wright, Anthony Tolliver, Maurice Evans, Aaron Brooks, Josh Childress, Mickael Pietrus, Raja Bell....
