I don't know whether to feel happy or sad for Mbah a Moute.

Love it!  Wolters, Mayo, Giannis, Henson, Sanders.  A little early to start clearing room for Wiggins, but...

That's a great move for the Kings.

MBAM is exactly the sort of role player they need on that Kings team.  An unselfish hustle guy who doesn't need the ball in his hands or to take very many shots.  He's a versatile defender and good rebounder for the 3/4.

The Kings still need to clear out a bunch of their guards, even after trading Tyreke.  But they've got a good start.

Someone needs to tell Marc Spears that Mbah a Moute isn't a free agent. Can't be signed and traded.

Unless this is somehow connected to the Tyreke Evans S&T to New Orleans?

I think Mbah a Moute would make a very good role player at power forward alongside D.Cousins. Strong defender with decent rebounding. Can cover a lot of ground on team defense. Defend multiple positions. Then his speed and cutting offensively with Cousins in the high post finding cutters like Mbah a Moute for easy baskets.

But weren't some concerns already about how many PFs were on Sacramento's roster? Didn't they sign another one of those this summer? Have more players than minutes?

Let's see, there is J.Thompson + C.Hayes + oh it was Carl Landry and Patrick Patterson. Not enough minutes to go around. Looks like they'll have to use Mbah a Moute at SF.

That must be disappointing for the Kings. They really wanted a shooter there to spread the floor. Spacing is going to be an issue for this team.

G - G.Vasquez, I.Thomas, J.Fredette
G - M.Thornton, B.McLemore
F - Mbah a Moute, J.Salmons, T.Outlaw
F - J.Thompson, C.Landry, P.Patterson
C - D.Cousins, C.Hayes

I don't like the fit offensively for Mbah a Moute. Not enough spacing from the bigs or backcourt to work around Mbah a Moute's offensive limitations effectively.

I think they should trade Thompson and start Patterson.

Patterson is a good shooter so that's plenty of spacing, especially if they also start McLemore at SG or give Thomas / Fredette significant minutes off the bench playing beside Vasquez or Thornton.

Kings still have way too many guards.

Isn't Mbah a Moute Camaroonian royalty?  It's fitting he's now a king, right?

Terrible deal for both teams! But not a surprise from these franchises.

Dan Sinclair at Brewhoop mentioned the idea that this salary dump combined with amnestying Drew Gooden would clear enough cap space to sign someone like Andrei Kirilenko.

Time to revisit that GWallace for Ezili & Gooden idea?
