He's wild and inconsistent. Goes from great to bonehead in seconds many times a game. Its been his thing  his whole time at Mizzou.

Also, let's not forget how everyone was calling for Dionte Christmas to be on the club after last year's Summer League. Summer League is barely higher quality play than DI basketball.

Unless you absolutely shine in the Summer League, chances are you will be just training camp fodder on your team or at best a deep bench type of guy playing in the D League. Most likely scenario is you won't be in the NBA that following season.

Only guys I see on the C's from this SL team is Olynyk and Iverson.
While I'm not commenting one way or the other on Pressey, it's not as simple as saying its just summer league.  One has to evaluate how they play, not just the box score.  Does the kid have skills that might translate is what is important.
I agree that finding out whether a kid has translatable skills is the most important thing. I don't know that I ever said anything about his stats or the box score, just that he had to shine.

Pressey hasn't shined. He's shown good passing skills and some questionable decision making skills. His defense has been good but you have to measure that versus the competition, which is Summer league quality ball and players. He has also shown to be not the most efficient scorer or a very good shooter.

Those are the things I was discussing when I said he had to shine.

Yeah, I think your analysis is spot on.  I see a potential pesk on D and that's about it so far.

Among the non-first round pick players on the #Celtics summer league team, only Phil Pressey has a training camp spot secured as of now.

He was out of control the first game but has steadily improved

Does anyone see a camp invite for either Fells or Mitchell at 3?

Flip Pressey is a good player, he obviously learned alot from his dad. The kid is definitely going to get a shot in the NBA somewhere, hopefully here..
