I don't know about you guys, but I'm enjoying Pressey's play. He's playing with a lot of hustle, but more importantly and the thing that is making me keep an eye on him is how active defensively he is.

Defense is the first thing you discount when you have such a short player, but this guy is really becoming a real pest pressuring the ball, and also quick to recover on his man he he takes a step on him. Almost Avery Bradley-esque

What have been your impressions of him so far?

Yeah, he is certainly not blowing me away, but he has a decent skillset for todays NBA.  If he works hard, and his head is on straight, I see no reason why he can't be a useful NBA player.

Like what ive seen so far!
Its nice to finally get a backup PG that can play the point guard position, hope he sticks if he is able to produce like he is doing right now.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Agree on Pressey.  Olynyk is the only shoo-in from this summer league squad to be a Celtic this season, but I think Fab, Iverson, and Pressey all have a legitimate shot at making the team.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Cheapest option for a backup/third string PG, which we still need. I'd take a chance on him for a year or two and hope he can develop in a similar way to someone like Will Bynum.

Pressey is an extremely gifted passer. If u have only seen him play in these few summer leauge games you will see more of this as you watch him. Has great awareness of where everyone is on the floor and is tenacious on D. A few knocks are obviously his height and he needs to play more in control to limit tournovers. But for those who havnt seen much of him, he will only continue to impress.

As someone who watched him play Baylor when Mizzou was in the Big 12, the guy can really shoot.

C's need someone besides Rondo who can dribble

He is intense on defense,  quick as a cat,   and decent shot ,  and most of all he doesn't seem at least one bit phased by the moment .   Dude has ice in his veins .     Poor man Mo C.

The Celtics brass should know the kid very well. His dad was Doc's assistant 2004-2006.

Too bad Phil Pressey didn't get any of his dad's height.  I can see him eventually carving out a career in the NBA.

I think the things he does well Rondo does extremely well, they don't really compliment each other at the 1 if that's what we're looking for. Erratic with the ball in his hands and his height is worrisome, can he even score in the paint against NBA bigs?

He's a pest on defense and has PG skills, but I'm not really a fan after a few games of summer play. Deserves a shot if a roster spot is available, but no big expectations.

PG is the hardest position to play in summer league.   He has no chemistry with these guys.   I think he can play and has some potential.  I've he has an invite to camp and I hope he makes the team.   I love our homegrown guys and watching them grow when we are in rebuild mode.

He's wild and inconsistent. Goes from great to bonehead in seconds many times a game. Its been his thing  his whole time at Mizzou.

Also, let's not forget how everyone was calling for Dionte Christmas to be on the club after last year's Summer League. Summer League is barely higher quality play than DI basketball.

Unless you absolutely shine in the Summer League, chances are you will be just training camp fodder on your team or at best a deep bench type of guy playing in the D League. Most likely scenario is you won't be in the NBA that following season.

Only guys I see on the C's from this SL team is Olynyk and Iverson.

While I'm not commenting one way or the other on Pressey, it's not as simple as saying its just summer league.  One has to evaluate how they play, not just the box score.  Does the kid have skills that might translate is what is important.
