LA's defense is going to be ridiculously slow and bad next season.

G - Nash
G - Kobe
F - Artest
C - Gasol
C - Kaman

Still, looks like a like a possible 7/8th seed or late lottery.  What do you think?

Looks like Lakers are going to "win multiple championships" again after signing Chris Kaman, said Laker fans. Meh typical.

But really, I wonder how will Kaman pan out for them. Might be a good signing for them I think.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
Could have been worse. With their limited cap flexibility they found a guy who's a solid Center. Not very good, not bad either.

I have them lower than that.

But they still have their bench to round out which is currently shaping up to be one of the weakest in the league so there is a lot they can do to improve their team there.

I don't see them making the playoffs though. Kaman was a big step in the wrong direction.

This should make them terrible yet entertaining, which is perfect because I really want Celtics/Lakers tickets this year out in LA.  The LA fans are such front runners that nobody will be there; this is probably the one time I can afford to buy 4 tickets for this particular match up

Does Boston currently have a better team than the Lakers?

I think so.

Better than Dwight Howard I think.  At least Kaman won't make the team WORSE lol

The move from D-Ho to Kamen saves the Lakers around $42 million in salary and luxtax.  So they get 41 wins instead if 45.  They're still going to be struggling for a playoff spot.

Good signing though.  One year, cheap money, keeping the books clear for next summer.  The would have been a good signing for the Clippers.

Just had a Laker friend tell me they are using the amnesty on MWP too.  Going to be a rough year for the Lake Show (MWP has fallen off quite a bit, but still probably the 4th or 5th best player on their roster)
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Hey I am all for the Lakers doing enough to get the 8th seed and a non lottery draft pick.

I was wondering about this. They should have done it last year.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.
