With the Suns drafting Len and Channing Frye due back from injury, this trade makes more sense for them.

Crawford can score the ball for them and he is sort of redundant with us getting Marshon Brooks.

I really think that Gortat would be a keeper that we could and should re-sign after his contract ends this year!!  Yes, he just turned 29, but he is a VERY young 29.  His first 4 years in the league he played very few minutes and he has averaged less than 30 minutes his last three years!!

Thoughts??  I think the time is NOW!!!

Honestly, I feel like Gortat could be the center for a championship contender and thought he'd be a great guy to get at the start of the offseason. I just don't think it's an appropriate time to trade for him anymore. We've missed out on all the major FAs this offseason and there's no indication we'll pursue the remaining ones.

I think it's clear that we'll be tanking, because then we have the opportunity of taking advantage of both the loaded 2014 draft class AND the loaded 2014 free agency pool.

The time for what is now?

I actully really like Gortat as a player and thinks he's talents were wasted on a miserable PHO team last year. IMO the time to get him was at the deadline as he would have been perfect next to KG. as for now it's a decent trade and I would love to get rid of BB aweful contract. Not quite sure PHO would do this but overall i think it's a bit of a moot point because it just makes a mediocre team slightly better

I really think that we tend to sometimes under-value some of our own, especially Bass!!  He was a +11.17 in the playoffs against a decent NY defensive front line.  Crawford was around a +11 for the regular season.  Both of them are NOT crap!!!!  Sure, we might have to include a second round pick or a late first rounder, but I don't know if we would.

I would NEVER include Bradley to get Gortat!! NEVER.

Let's throw in Lee and Wallace while we're at it.

Once again, Lee is NOT crap and I don't think he is viewed as such around the league.  Here on Celticsblog, yes, but elsewhere, NO.

This trade would also get us almost a 1.2 million trade exception.

Why? I would deal Bradley for Gortat in a heartbeat. Bradley may be good defensively but is a nightmare offensively, sometimes.

Plus, now with so many guards, we don't really need him but we do need a center.

Besides, I don't think Phoenix even considers an offer of Bass and Crawford.

Because defenders like Avery come along about every 20 years or so.  Let's see how he rebounds having RR back first.

I think IF we include a 1st they will bite.

Exactly.

A Gortat trade would begin with Bradley and/or Sullinger.  Even then I think Phoenix could get a better deal.  The idea that our flotsam will land one of the better centers in the NBA is a joke.

I think you are missing the point. Bass and Crawford aren't worth their contracts and are a dime a dozen. They have no trade value apart from contracts. Lee is also not worth his contract.

Lee and Bass may be legitimate rotation guys on mediocre teams, but Gortat has real value.

If Phx wants Crawford, they could probably get him for a second round pick.

If you bothered to read the post, it was already suggested that Bradley might be overkill and Crawford and a second rounder might be all it takes in addition to Bass.

Of course, like others have posted, Crawford might not be enough. To each their own, but bottom line is that a trade that involves Bass + others is certainly a possibility.
