Gigi Datome likely not coming to Boston: Sportando

It looks like Memphis is in the lead for Datome, and is offering more than the minimum.  I hope Danny gets back in the picture, although I understand he needs to clear the glut of 3/4's on the roster before adding another, and I'm guessing that's not happening too quickly.

Gigi Datome has a one-year, $900.000 offer from the Memphis Grizzlies, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian forward was drawing interest also from the Celtics but in the last hours it seems that Boston is out of race for Datome.

I'd take a chance on him and offer him more. What have we got to lose, we are rebuilding as is.

Datome doesn't seem inclined to accept 1-year deal with PT in question. Expecting Griz to grab a Morrow type. Joerger is said to like him.

based on his age and current production I wouldn't be scared to offer him a 2-3 year deal. Something similar to a rookie contract.

Too bad Danny can't ship back a couple of his excess players to Datome's Italian team in return.

I'd offer him 2 years non-guaranteed.  What's the worse that can happen, he makes the team and plays some euroball offense first and along the way helps get us closer to landing Wiggins.  LOL
