So...I've got a bone to pick with many other posters on here who already want Wallace dealt, and he isn't even technically a Celtic yet.

Why not give the guy a chance?

Ok, so he's owed 30 million over 3 years. AND? What was Wallace suppose to do? Turn the money down because in year 2 of the 4 year deal, he might get dealt to Boston and it might upset fans on Celtics Blog.com?

If Brooklyn wanted to give him the money, that's their issue.

Already, I am seeing suggestions that Wallace should be dealt for anything and everything under the sun

Let's give the guy a chance. He hasn't even played one game as a Celtics yet. For all we know, he could be pretty good and was good in his days with Charlotte.

Also, he's just 30 years old. Courtney Lee and Brandon Bass are under equally bad contracts  and they both suck. Why is no one criticizing them?

All three should be traded if the chance presents itself.

The team is resetting around Rondo.  Wallace is a huge cap filler in a trade.

It's Crash's contract that's the problem, not him.

I love him, who wouldn't. He plays hard and plays with heart. He just doesnt fit in our rebuilding ways right now and moving forward.

He's certainly going to get a chance, simply because he is unlikely to play worse than last year. If he comes out and plays like he did in the playoffs (which wasn't great but still a big step up from the regular season) he will at the very least improve his trade value.

Crash used to be one of my favorite players, and I think the pace the Nets played at last year hurt him. An improved pace added to a pass first point guard in Rondo should help him put up better numbers assuming he isn't completely cooked.

That being said, if we can move him for an expiring contract we have to do so. The free agent class next year is going to be very good. Ideally we use this year to develop Olynyk, Bradley, Green and Sully, then after the year draft an impact player, and add an impact free agent, putting us right back into the playoff hunt with a young team that can grow into a contender.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'm one who is willing to give him a chance.  I think he can play, regardless of what he's getting paid.  Is he worth what that figure is ?  Probably not.

I'm interested to see his game on this team.  He gets up and down with the best of them, & his Defense is solid at the 3.  Let's see what he has next year after a down year this past season.

Wallace is probably the last person I wanted on the Celtics in the whole NBA ,

for me he is right along side Bynum, Wade, Haslem,  Mette Jerk off  as the last players I want on a team .

he can't he dumped quick enough for me.

I know everyone says he was placed in the wrong role last year, but he averaged 7 points a game on 39 percent shooting. Plus, he is a guy who is often injured. I don't hate the guy, but would prefer not seeing him on the Celtics.

I like this plan.

I have no problem with Wallace. His contract isn't terrible plus it allows you to reach the salary floor. Whatever he contributes on the floor is a bonus.

IN 3 years when we are ready to compete again, Wallace's expiring contract might be the Theo Ratliff of a superstar trade.  We don't need to get rid of it.

If wallace bounces back it will prove what rondo has over deron, wallace can defend and rondo will help him get easy buckets, improving his offensive stats and trade value

rondo ability to get guys easy shots is another reason why i wouldn't say no to bring perk back, think rondo can get him producing again, so long as the thunder payed us off in picks, assets.

If there was a deal to clear him for nothing, you have to do it.  Cap space / a trade exception is likely more valuable than anything we got in trade.

I appreciate Wallace's career, but his year last season was atrocious.  7.7 points on 39.7% shooting, with mediocre rebounding and defense.  I understand the argument that his value can only improve, but that's not always the case.

Give him a chance to do what? To put up numbers on a rebuilding team? Sure.

To help steer us into the playoffs? Hell no!
