The only offer for Rondo that I'd consider is to the Cavs for TIrving.....and that isn't happening.  Nothing else makes sense at the moment.  Not trading for an older All-Star, or for late draft picks.

Hell no . A few role players , and crappy picks in the future does not get it done . That team would be stacked with Rondo, Harden and Dwight , those would be picks in the 25-30 range.

We already have 9 picks in the next 5 years . If you are trading Rondo, it has to be for a top 5 pick in next years draft , or an up and coming all-star on a rookie deal .

Yeah, I don't really see the upside either. Rondo is either one of the top two players we emerge from rebuilding with, or the centerpiece in a trade to get a superstar. He's not what we use to get 3-4 middling assets.

Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and 2 first round picks got them Harden and a few other useful players.  I don't think Houston or anyone else is going to trade 3 starters (albeit on a weak team) and 3 first round picks for Rondo and Bass.

Also agree that we don't need more picks.  I think even just Lin, Asik, Chandler for Rondo and Bass is great for a rebuilding team.  Bass will be useful to them but is really no value to the Celtics at this point.  I view it as a plus for the Celtics that they take the salary along with Rondo.

I don't see that the rest of the league values Rondo quite the way posters here do.  That became clear, at least to me, during the Chris Paul original trade talks.  Rondo is good but flawed.  He would be great for Houston right now I think but I also think they would move on to Smith well before considering giving up this much.

Asik,  Parsons & Terence Jones would be great haul for Rondo & bass

Asik is a great rebounder  Parsons a really versatile player and Terrence Jones a star in the making and a 6'9" 250 athletic body to throw on LeBron

Rondo and Dwight will be a close game brick tossing nightmare

If Rondo could shoot 3s, Houston would be unstoppable. I don't see how Rondo would fit necessarily with Dwight and Harden. If it did work, it'd be one heck of a big 3 that could easily beat Miami.
