Danny said he wouldn't make any free agent moves.  He didn't, he let Milsap go, he let Al Jeff go. Nothing.  If Danny wanted to win more games then he would have gotten us some more help.  So far it does not look like Dany wants to win more games this coming season.  Why?  I would think to make our draft pick better and give us more leverage next year.  That doesn't mean we have to win the lottery! It means we will have more leverage for a trade or a high draft pick.  That is not a gamble it is a fact.  You don't need the top pick, because if you don't get it you still have good picks for trade options.  Again look at what Danny did in the past, he didn't get the top pick so he created the big 3!  He is using that logic again, although I think we are due for some luck in the draft!!!  If not he uses those picks on a trade.  This is not tanking it is giving us more leverage in the next few years.  That is what Danny is doing, look at the evidence.  Anyone who says they want to win as many games this year as possible needs to look at how many free agents Danny has brought in to help us…  We aren't tanking but we sure aren't trying to get better.

I don't think we really can do too much until the NJ deal is final. I also like the approach Danny is taking. I don't think it's about signing free agents to win more games. It's about building a championship team over the next few years.

Of course we can, but it's very complicated when it's your sole method of acquiring a player, particularly when you need to complete a prior big trade before it, and the player has to wait all this out hoping the trade can ocur while forgoing other opportunities.

And for Millsap, this was a surprising move by Atlanta on the cheap. Also, once Utah did the GSW trade, the sign-and-trade with Millsap wasn't any longer a possibility.

I have been a Celtics fan since the 70's and have never had any input in the teams decisions.  We have no choice but to put it in Danny's hands, that's sports I guess.  We are fans but they don't ask us for any input.  We can only hope their decisions work.

We don't have money to sign anyone.  No space whatsoever.  Right now, it's about unloading the fat on the roster and getting into a position to compete within the next 2 years.

Isn't Danny the one who decided to take on Wallace's contract?  Would he have done that if he was looking to be busy in free agency?  Our hands are tied in many ways, so let's not get any better and hope a good pick helps our future.

Avoid free agency this offseason. Tank the season. Get a high potential draft pick next offseason. Make a big splash next offseason. Compete in 2 years.
