Don't at all agree Rondo is going anywhere.  I truly believe Ainge is going to give Rondo a chance to prove his abilities as a leader of a team.

Ainge has a year and a half to see what happens, there's no reason to rush anything.

I would say the complete opposite of what Thomson is saying. I think Brad Stevens is highly intelligent and will work well with Rondo. Thomson is assuming Stevens being a young coach wont work with Rondo I think he is wrong. People are going to underestimate Stevens because of his age.

let me first say I missed you guys and missed this site (you guys may or not remember me, probably not). Once a diehard NBA Fan, and Celts fan, I have not watched one NBA game since the travesty of June 17, 2010. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJnXxQlPC48).

But with Rat Stern leaving the NBA, hopefully, in more capable, honest hands, I am going to get back to the NBA, give it another chance. And I disagree with Ian Thompson. I do not think Rondo is the devil he has been made out to be. And if Rondo's value is not 100%, Ainge is not going to deal him. With the injury and the perception Rondo must be dealt, I would have to think Rondo's value is on the low side. I am not promising he retires as a Celtic, but I would be surprised if he is dealt before the start of the 2013 season.

The guy can either coach or he can't coach (in this league).

If he can coach, Rondo will be fine. If he can't coach, Rondo might become a problem. It is up to the coach. He either knows what he is doing or he doesn't.

Trading Rondo to deal with a coach who isn't good enough for the job is plain dumb.
Pretty much.

Rondo may or may not be traded, but the coach really shouldn't matter for that. Either get value for Rondo to rebuild from scratch, or try to rebuild with him in place.

rondo is the smartest player in the game.

Than why hasn't he figured out how to shoot consistently yet after so many years. Rondo has good bbiq but he is not the smartest player in the league

In five of the last six years, Rondo has shot AT LEAST 47.5%.  How in the world is that NOT "shooting consistently????"

Apparently getting layups doesn't count.  Neither does shooting a solid percentage from mid-range.  He is streaky though.

You can't call yourself a top level coach unless you can get your talent to buy into what you're selling and that better include your best player.  Otherwise you're not a top level coach.  Both Stevens and RR should be given every opportunity to make the marriage work.

I think it will.
