@Chris_Broussard: "Jefferson looking for 4-year deal starting at about $15 mill...."

Barf.

Sad thing is, Charlotte would totally be a team who would be willing to throw that money at him.

I would say $8-10 mil, but I wouldn't be surprised if he got more based on some of the offers out there. Splitter, Evans, ect.

Oh yeah, Big Al was definitely going to get more. I figured $12-13 million. I thought that was his market value.

But I think his on-court value, his basketball contributions, are only worth around $8mil.

If these teams with cap room miss out on Dwight, I bet they will spend it on Big AL.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Sad thing is, Charlotte would totally be a team who would be willing to throw that money at him.

Maybe if he signs with Charlotte, they'd be inclined to compete which means maybe they'd want Rondo to pair him up with?

So we can then swoop in and grab Charlotte's 2014 1st round draft pick?

Something like Rondo and Lee for Ben Gordon, Ramon Sessions (two expirings) and Charlotte's 2014 first round draft pick.

Won't work, Charlotre is obligated for their 2015 pick, even though it is protected. Ted Stapien rule forbids it.

He may as well start high and see if a teams stupid enough to give it to him (they exist). He can always renegotiate if need be.

?? Do you mean Charlotte's 2015 pick or their 2014 pick? Because I am talking about their 2014 pick.

EDIT Did a little research. The Bobcats traded their 2014 1st round pick to Chicago, didn't they?

Yep, but they do have Detroit and Portland's firsts (though both are protected).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner
