If you're not a Bynum fan, then this probably won't help

http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/eye-on-basketball/22596944/andrew-bynum-will-not-work-out-for-teams-in-free-agency

Still, call me crazy, but I would take a chance with him.

Regardless, I am not sure if going after Bynum will help us contend or help us tank (lol.)

PS, what does everyone think of his hair-due in the picture of the link?

I thought Bynum hated the Celtics anyway during his tenure with the Lakers lol.

He doesnt want the teams to know that he is already done. His knees are toast.
Peavey Bass Player - relearning to play after 10 years sucks;

He did. But I am sure he'd play with whoever paid him money.

Chances are he either ends up with Dallas or Atlanta, once they whiff on Howard. They can offer him more $

Insurance... Clause...

His health and character are causes for concern, but Bynum is a beast. If you can negotiate a safety net, you sign him, hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

The Mavericks and Hawks should pounce on the opportunity to sign him. Pairing a healthy Bynum with the star PF's on one of those 2 teams and they become a contender.

If the Celtics have to sign an injury riddled big man, I think I'd rather they go for Oden than Bynum, mainly because of character issues.

I'd go for Oden strictly based on the price difference. Bynum will want a max or near max deal, Oden could be had for at most, the MLE, likely significantly less.

I have faith oden will play at least another 20 games in the nba. I can't pencil in Bynum for more than 12. I think oden wants it more.

If we are, in fact, tanking, the biggest benefit might be that we won't try to take a flyer on Bynum.

Has he announced yet that he also won't be playing for the team that hires him?

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

And will part of his new contract say that he won't be required to play defense and offense will have to revolve around him. Seriously who would want to play with this guy behind them?

bynum is a joke and always has been. he has talent and the obvious size but he is a class A knucklehead. i honestly believe he has no intentions of playing regardless of where he goes. stay away from his brittle knees and crack head hair cut. although i know its just his hair being incompletely braided.
