Regardless of the coaching hire they'd say Rondo is gone. We don't know what type of moves Ainge is making so everything is speculation.

he has no nba experience , that mean we are not looking to win games , danny want to tank and we are not bad enough with rondo on the roster ,, he give him SIX years contract , sorry i dont believe its a quick rebuild

i continue to say we aren't tanking, we're just going young
didn't danny ainge inherit paul pierce and doc? maybe not doc but def pp
he has to know what the future was...paul was gonna get old
gathered assets before he hit his prime, Paul got a ring

People forget Doc was a LOSING coach and Paul Pierce was also a LOSER -- he was like the Melo of his time...he was also a KNUCKLEHEAD
not until Danny surrounded him with better did Paul become a winner, did Doc become a winner.

I'm just under the assumption, that after 1 year of nothing going right and the year before of obvious overachievement, that DA is trying his best to make this Rondo's team. Rondo is the new PP. He's gonna have to lose a little bit this upcoming season, but I guarantee DA is setting him up for a 2014 or 2015 run.

My point is maybe this is what Rondo needs. I think what happened with Doc is very telling about Doc and Rondo's relationship...Doc wasn't here for Rondo and that's obvious.  You get a coach in Stevens that enjoys developing young talent and enjoys doing different things.

However, Rondo isn't necessarily known as a guy who buys in.  He's been known to give his coaches a hard time at every level he's played.  He reportedly was a vocal dissenter in the locker room, allegedly leading a mini-mutiny by the younger players a couple of seasons ago.

i feel like you're helping prove my point
he had this mutiny while Doc, a hailed veterans coach, was the head coach, right?

i think getting younger all around favors Rondo.
whereas you have a bunch of older guys who are set in their ways and only believe in certain things.

i mean, i don't know, i just feel like this does nothing but strengthen the idea that rondo,  as well as jeff, ab and sully, will be sticking around.

It's because some CB posters just want someone to blame.

Rondo is the future.

Enough said.

no, who here is blaming rondo? all i see is people predicting what may happen and the reason why. Did someone here blame rondo for doc, PP and KG leaving? if so that is nuts.

new coach may not want rondo attitude poisoning the young bucks. JMO. i think he is gone when the time comes. It could be tomorrow it could be next year.

Rondo buying in will help Stevens immensely.  It's very difficult to run an NBA team without a quality PG, especially a young team.

Rondo can instantly polish up his reputation by embracing this young coach, totally buying in, and taking a leadership role with this rebuilding team.

If he doesn't, it could get ugly.  A young coach MUST have the support of his star player.  One thing Spro had in Miami was a great friendship with Wade, and that helped him get credibility with the rest of the players. Same thing with L Frank as a young coach, with Jason Kidd supporting him.

RR won't be gone,   Stevens is a coaching prodigy.   I do not think he will bomb like Pitino.   He got a mid major like Butler in with the big boys with less talent and held his own.   This is a great hire.  His teams play really hard.

RR wants to win.   Stevens will find a way to win some games.   We need talent now.  Even his Butler teams had some talent.   I wonder if Gordon Haywood will sign here now someday.

nope. not quick at all. 3 to 5 years. If it works it sure beats 22 years though.

i can live with 3-5 to get back to contention , based on celtics history im just not optimistic when it comes to lottery

Ping pong ball results from previous years have zero influence on ping pong ball results in future years.  Bad luck in the lottery doesn't mean the Celtics are bound to have future bad luck, nor does it mean that they are more likely to have good luck to make up for the bad luck.

You cannot read well it appears or comprehend well either. AGain where did i blame rondo? I said a coach may not want him if it was indeed true that he could be a poison. all speculation. nothing more nothing less. but you keep spinning that word salad. nice job proving people blamed rondo for the others leaving! great job!  ::)

I never said people blamed Rondo for the others leaving. Check what I wrote, I guess you're the one with a poor reading comprehension.

I think a more analytical basketball coach might be right up Rondo's alley. From all accounts, he's a smart guy - particularly from a mathematical stand. A coach who uses advanced stats might have a better chance communicating with him and showing HOW things work and WHY we may run certain sets and defensive schemes. Maybe not having a coach who is set in his ways and willing to throw different challenges at him will help Rondo grow.
