He have to be smart choosing a team that can be a real contender. Houston are not a team that can win NBA title. He has more chances playing for Dallas

Why do you think Dallas has a better position for the future?

They certainly don't have comparable talent right now.

2 years before Dallas got the title. They have a very good team

You should look how many of those players are still on the roster.

I would be very VERY surprised if Dwight stays in LA.

LA has yet to make any roster moves or get rid of D'Antoni, both of which are necessary if they want to make Dwight happy.

Not only has Dwight been very public about how much he dislikes playing in D'Antoni's system, but he has also said that his priority is to be on a winning team. The Lakers will not be a winning team next year, even with him. They will struggle to make the playoffs again, and might even miss them this time.

I think he is going to Houston. It makes sense from literally every perspective.

I think he's going to stay with the Lakers. I don't think Houston with Dwight will have any better shot at a championship than the Lakers with Dwight.

Plus, there's the small issue of the $30M more that Dwight gets by staying with the Lakers.

Let me recap: $30M more.
Celtics fan for life.

Because Dwight Howard won't get paid for Basketball in 2017-2018, when he is 31, if he's not on the Lakers?

Its 30 million more, but most of that is contained in the 5th year which Howard almost certainly will get another big money contract for anyways.

Heck if he does stay with the Lakers I bet he has an opt out after the fourth year. (same with Houston, probably a 3rd year opt out for their offer)

Definitely think he's going to sign with Houston. James Harden would be a great "sidekick" for him. plus, they still have some solid players like Jeremy Lin and Chandler Parsons.

Also, houston seems to still be china's favorite team. tons of endorsement potential there.

Meanwhile, the lakers are a sinking ship with or without Dwight.

Dwight is just so unpredictable. I do think only Houston/LA have a chance at him.

Seems if he really really wanted to stay , he'd have resigned weeks back , just supported the Lakers and all.

Obviously he is fickle and immature ,  any who .....I believe now he'll sign with LA.

LA'S COACH MDA is going to get fired ,   after DH resigns........I believe a deal has been struck to dump MDA  some point early on in the season.  Or a unwritten word , If things aren't going Howards way and he is not used correctly , and so on , they will dump MDA.

Howard doesn't want the coach killer monkey on his back ......so simple enough for Mitch,  just fire MDA latter on .   Won't fire him before resigning DH.........MDA is toast and he knows it.

Even Jack is on board the "LETS BEG and grovel "  for DH to stay a Laker ,   pathetic bunch  .

HE SHOULD go to Houston , if he is smart,   but he never does the right thing anyways , always screws up ....so I think he continue that history and stay at LA.

I think Houston has the best team among his suitors.  But the Lakers are the Lakers, Kobe, glitz and all, and wouldn't be surprised if he stayed.   :P

If I had to bet on which "franchise" player in the league right now has the lowest chance of ever winning a ring, I'd pick Dwight Howard. I think he brings negativity and selfishness wherever he goes.

I hope he doesn't sign with Houston, because I kind of like that franchise.

Yes, but if he signs with the Lakers it is guaranteed money in the bank. Given his back issues, that's nothing to sneeze at.
