That is disappointing. TA could've been a difference maker for a title contender.

Memphis got Kosta Koufos too. Did not notice that.

They're getting closer. But they still need ONE piece.

he would have really helped out OKC or the clippers, too bad. Even going to Brooklyn to back up iso-Joe and reunite with KG and Pierce would have been nice.

How did Denver get Koufos?

How did Denver get Koufos?

Koufos for Darrell Arthur on draft day. I think there were some late picks involved too.

Quote
In a wild Thursday night during the NBA draft, the Nuggets traded center Kosta Koufos to the Memphis Grizzlies, two NBA sources confirmed, in exchange for the 6-foot-9, 235-pound Arthur and the 55th pick in the draft.

The Nuggets drafted Joffrey Lauvergne with that #55 pick. An international player. A player from the French league. Scored 6ppg.

Looks like a beneficial trade for both team. Denver badly needed a PF who could hit a mid-range jump-shot. The lack of spacing from their big men last season was ridiculous.

Surprised Denver couldn't get a little more for Koufos though.

Wow, in an offseason where bad contracts are being thrown out left and right, it's nice to see Memphis strike a great deal with Allen. 4yr/$20M to keep their defensive ace? Yes please. Memphis will remain serious threats in the West for a while.

Also, Darrell Arthur is a great coup for Koufos. What else did you expect Denver to get for him? Arthur is one of the best rotational bigs in the league and considering they already have Faried/McGee locked up as their starting frontcourt, Arthur is one of the best possible guys they could've gotten.

TA has always struck me as a player who's loyal to his team, and willing to make a just deal for himself and the team. This is such a contract, and well earned.

Would have liked to see him join Brooklyn to help defend Wade/LeBron, but it seems they are looking for 3pt shooters (interested in Korver) instead of a defensive wing.

He wanted a bigger role/more money in 2010 and he proved it was the right decision. I wasn't his biggest fan while he was here but he did good for himself. He earned it.

If Avery Bradley can be a 38% three-point shooter, should he be worth more than Tony Allen?

Tony Allen is 31 years old and received a four-year deal.  It's quite possible Memphis will be regretting that fourth year, but it may have been necessary to keep Allen.

With the shortage of centers around the league, I expected someone to offer up a starter in return for Koufos.
