I see both KG and Pierce sign on for one day contracts and retire as celtics. After that, I would love to see KG and Pierce joining the staff as big men/assistant coaches. That way, once we draft Wiggins, they can win more titles as Celtics haha.

So long as Wyc owns this team even partly that will never happen. Some folks seem to think business men have Lizard DNa or something  ???cuz....you gotta be out of your mind.

Do you think it was a part of the plan oh...say..May 7th when SAS leaked the "crazy" Clips rumor that the Celts would not Have a Coach on July 2nd days before the first Summer league?

Danny just went on a ramble about how really tougher than usual this season has been with so many things to take care of...it's a league...with a schedule...he knows the drill. What he DIDN'T know was he'd be doing a public Circus for 2 precious weeks with a coach he thought he had already.

I get it, I get it.  Doc left, it hurt your feelings.  But DA and ownership are smart enough to know that Doc does a pretty bang up job coaching vets.  If the opportunity comes along that we have a good group of players and need a coach, I would not be surprised to see them bring Doc back.

It really doesn't matter.  Ewing played a year or two in Seattle.  Olajuwon in Toronto.  Karl Malone, as a Laker.  Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett (yes, even Garnett) shall always been known as, and remembered as, Celtics.  And thats all that matters.

Ya know...after all that transpired and the total lack of communication in any way shape or form from K.G. who is my favorite Celtic of all time.....I wouldn't assume anything about him.

His Loyalty code could make him retire at the Hall of Fame in a Wolves jersey. Folks should be ready for that.

The deal hasn't been consummated yet.  They will speak on the 12th.   You'll get your answer then.  Remember, Danny did do right by them.  KG wanted to play with Paul and wanted to contend, Danny found the only situation where he could facilitate both.

Also, basketball hof isn't like baseball, players don't go in with jersey/team affiliation.

Pierce will come back and retire as a Celtic.  It may be on a one day contract or maybe he just comes back for a few games or even a year at the very end, but he retires a Celtic.

Garnett will retire a Net or T-Wolf.

Allen will retire with whatever team he is on when he retires, which will be a contender, and may very well be the Heat.

Doc is done in Boston.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Before coming to Boston, I see Pierce and Garnett moving to the Clippers, if they haven't retired by then.

But Pierce may at some point do the 1 day contract thing to retire as a Celtic.

Doc will not want to come back. He realizes he burned his bridges here in a manner that makes some uncomfortable with his decisions and handling of his departure. No matter how much he says he loves the city, people will always doubt him and question his intentions.

Ray will NEVER EVER come back. Personally, I dont think the organization would welcome him back either. Yes he wanted to win a championship, but what he wanted he was security and we had that for him. We offered to make him 1/3 players with that clause in their contract. He felt betrayed beforehand and we felt betrayed after. That bridge is long gone.

KG is the only one I am up in the air about. He loves the Celtics but he also loves Doc. Would he rather retire in Min. or would he rather retire in Boston? Or will he retire with the Nets? If I didnt think Doc was as big an influence I would say Boston, but now I do not know. Regardless he will always be welcome here.

PP is a no brainer. He will comeback in one form or another, whether its a coach (its possible), one day player, front office guy (minor role), or even as a one year player. He will have his jersey in the rafters, no doubt.

I'm butthurt and your out of your mind.

Not making stress and I won't respond to baits anymore.
I'm hurt...not the Owner or G.M. or players talked into coming or everybody damaged by an unplanned unprepared for transition that adversely effects the entire org. It's just me.

Sure.

I will note you and the ridiculousness of what you say and proceed accordingly. You think Danny would welcome Doc back because of his talent coaching vets...who tune him out ..that's his selling point? He's not teaching a buncha salty vets now...hope that goes well and get your tickets for the Doc Danny reunion before they sell out.
