Great analogy of the kid who's just happy to be invited to the party - TP.

I love having a big bruiser who isn't afraid to hit someone. We now have Colton and Sully. One of the things I hated about the last 5-6 years is a i felt like we were always takign the hits and not hitting back - I hate that attitude.

I'm not saying we become thugs, but if someone gives us a shot you have to let them know your in the gym, introduce yourself. This kid seems like he's that kind of player - love it. We need that.

It's high time that Rondo stops having to player the enforcer for our team. I mean that...

Just based on the fact that the center position is the one where we have the biggest hole, I wouldn't be surprised if Colton made the roster.

Center: Melo and Colton
PF: Sully and Olynyk

Possible combinations

Melo Oly - twin towers
Melo Sully - ??
Colton Oly - in/out
Colton Sully - most beef
Oly Sully - most offense

Bigs are hard to come by.  If we can make Colton and Melo into servicable bigs we have two valuable chips. By serviceable I mean 6-8 points and rebounds per game as a backup.

From your lips to Gods ears!

I remember the Brooklyn game last year and Wallace and folks were all over Garnett. It looked like an old guy getting payback for some past sins and slights but nobody was helping K.G. I was losing it. I am a huge K.G. fan. It was hard to watch and it had been going on for a number of games but the Brooklyn game was just too much.

Who was yappin and finally pushed back?...oh yeah...the guy with an attitude and a personality that if stuck in a Shaq like body woulda already killed a ref or two. Rondo.

That night and the night Melo was chasing Garnett

Who's that...the only Celtic player to ignore the coaches to stay on the bus....check :43 on and watch Rondo stare at Melo with a "ya ain't gunna do nuttin bro" look.

That was the final nail in the "I'm gonna love Rondo till he leaves on his own" coffin. I love that dude. Lookin out for big bro....again.

Rondo had to do that stuff because there simply isn't anyone else to do the oops I'm 265 and you just accidentally ran into my arm and now your on the ground kinda work.

I'm thrilled to have a dude who considers that brute stuff his calling card. If I'm not the first one posting a vid of him setting a hard screen in Summer league it's cuz I was sleeping.

@ the question bout the vid (Found it on the official celtics site> videos>Youtube

Would be nice if this kid could contribute right away....he's already way ahead of Melo.

Initially it was said that he was going to play oversees but now it looks like he's determined to make the C's

Yep, totally agree about Rondo. That is one cat you probably don't want to get into a tangle with. Because he doesn't give a crap. Doesn't care how big you are, etc.

I always hated the "we don't hit back" mentality Doc employed, seemed like we were always taking shots.

When I played it seemed like if you didn't stand your ground you were going to keep getting it all night.

If guys know they're gonna take a shot if they dish something out, they are generally "less" likely to do it in the first place - it's common sense.

It always bugged me that Big baby didn't use his muscle more this way. And I'm not talking dirty, I'm just talking tough -

Perkins, Powe, TAllen, PJ Brown, Posey, Rondo tough.
You need these types of guys
And then you need the guys who do their job of lighting it up night in and night out.

That's what the 2008 Celtics were.

Iverson / Sully / Rondo & Bradley even - a nice beginning core of hard nosed guys.

I don't know how much was Doc or Thibs? Chicago when healthy...or any other time plays with high intensity and physical and he was our assistant when we had that swagger.

One of the reasons I think Doc never gets another ring is because of that "that crap that's rookie stuff" line every time somebody got T'd up but.. he'd call his team soft in front of the media cuz they wouldn't listen to him in the locker room anymore.

And Sully is not too tall and not a good jumper but has great instincts about where the ball is going and where to put his butt to get it. Him feeding a dude in beast mode with finishing skills and enough strength and elevation to dunk through hands...that could go really well for Sully and Iverson.

I really wish they had another Summer league  :'(

This is the video I watched as well. The downside is he is doing this against no one remotely as tall as him, on the bright side, in this video he looked skilled, and mobile two things that will translate to the NBA.

That video gives me hope that he is already better than Fab.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Thanks for the Vid - I'd be happy if he just turned out to be a 3rd string enforcer for us - that would be great.

Paidthecost - There is another summer league this year. But do you mean you wish Sully was going to have another summer league?

It's a highlight reel...they all are but he has energy and it looks like he's very comfortable in the paint. Very comfortable.

I was hoping the Celts as a team were participating in more than one Summer league (Not going to L.V. or Europe) this year since we seem to need time to observe players and a coach a lot more than we needed to last year.

If I am wrong and Orlando is not the only Summer tournament?...I'd be thrilled to be wrong.

For a second round 7 footer, not bad. Enforcer is likely his upside though. The two biggest things I see is that he is very slow and deliberate in all his movements. Probably too slow for NBA competition. He also clearly only has one post move. A drop step jump hook to his right hand. With his limited vertical, he will have a hard time getting that off in the big leagues. That being said, if he is willing to just be a big body, then he might have a future.
