If he is healthy, I expect this to be by far Rondo's best season. I think his scoring goes up as does his rebounding, his assists should take a hit because we lost two very good shot makers.

his assists might be ok bc bradley may be able to hit that corner three, still will assist green, and one has to think that on his drives sully and kelly will be open on for the 15 footer....AND if by some crazy chance jsmooth is here there are more..... so per game 1 ast to bradley, 3 to green, 3 to kelly/sully....so i feel lik he should have 7 per game minimum.... his assists will be fine, its what he does!

and i think your right about his scoring going up tho

You could put Rondo out there with a random collection of four CelticsBlog posters, and he'd still average at least 9 assists per game.

I'd probably blow one or two lay-ups, but TP.

It's early yet. Let's see how he feels after a half season watching Fab Melo fumble his passes into the third row.

That's nice. Demanding a trade would be kind of redundant at this point.... Like preemptively dumping your girlfriend when you find out she's planning on dumping you as soon as her kg/pierce nets trade becomes official.

imagine if rondo develops a 3 pointer this off season.

And learned how to shoot free throws, and learned how to shoot a wide open jumpshot, and awww, did hell just freeze over?  LOL

Glad Rondo isn't being a Diva at least.  I think he's smart enough to know that he doesn't have a lot of leverage right now cos of his low stock.

Hopefully we can ride this to a #1 overall pick.  Get Wiggins AND keep Rondo. ;)

I think there is more going on then what we see. Not saying Rondo would demand a trade if we were going to war with the team as is, I just feel there is something going on behind the scenes that Rondo knows about.

You sound almost as certain about this as you were that Dwight Howard was going to join the Nets last summer.

The future of an NBA franchise is always built on a healthy amount of "ifs."

Every team builds their future with "if". Nothing's ever assured.

Well, that's scary.  I swear I didn't mean to post almost the exact same thought at almost the exact same time.

If we trade rondo we will regret it for years to come. Well keep him, and well love him.

Just curious, but have you ever had any other usernames in any other versions of the blog?

What I really want to know is if Rondo will be making an appearance in Summer League.

I'd like to see him be an assistant coach for the team.

Aw Tim that's not fair.  Dwight signed an extension with Orlando on March 16th, 2012 effectively "keeping him in Orlando" and ending speculation that he'd be traded.

A week later, I posted a lengthy thread detailing why I believed Dwight caved to pressure from the media (fearing he'd be vilified worse than Lebron) and effectively gave Orlando back some leverage by signing that extension... and made a wild prediction that he'd be still be traded sometime between June 28th and July 11th 2012.

http://forums.celticsblog.com/index.php?topic=54922.msg1175965#msg1175965

I was picking up breadcrumbs of what I knew of the story at the time.  My gut was that Orlando would still trade him and that now they had some leverage to get it done.  I figured the Nets were the only option.  I based that on the fact that Dwight had rejected a trade to the Lakers prior to signing the Orlando extension... and that Dwight was refusing to sign an extension with any team but the Nets.  So clearly the Lakers would be nuts to trade for Dwight in what could be nothing more than a 1 year rental, right?  It was sound logic.

If you check out the first few posts in that thread, it's mostly people saying I'm crazy and that Dwight clearly was sticking in Orlando.

So what ended up happening?  The Nets lost their opportunity... Dwight ended up getting traded a month after my silly 2 week window... and he ended up going to the Lakers.  Yeah... the Lakers... who are looking like they might lose him.  A 1 year rental.  Dumb move on the Lakers part.  I predicted that a week after Dwight signed his Orlando extension.

My logic was sound.

So maybe Rondo doesn't get traded in a couple weeks after the KG/Pierce Nets trade goes through.  Maybe it happens in a month instead.  *shrug*
