All the Howard/Smith threaders too scared to post ITT. It's true. They can't play together.

44.4% for Howard! "Howard with the bucket and, well, at least everyone can stop jogging for a second."

They could play together and they'd be pretty successful. Unfortunately it's not going to happen.

I am too scared to post in this thread...oh wait, I just posted.

Almost everyone who wants Dwight/Josh/Rondo together agrees that we would need a lot of good shooters on the team (which there are many of).

So calm down.

By the way, nobody is scared and that is an awful pitch line to get someone's interest.

Amazing counterpoint. What analysis!

I'm sure those "shooters" will be so helpful when literally three of the five players on the floor can be fouled at will to screw up the possession. I'm sure it will be really helpful at the end of games when 70% of your salary cap is on the bench with the game on the line.

The "filler" shooters we would be able to afford would certainly be the kinds of players we would want on the floor at crunch-time. That's why they will be available for the mini-mid level or whatever low salary we could pay with those players on the team.

A rumor recently came out that Dwight Howard was in Houston but it was later confirmed to be false because he was in Los Angeles working on his shooting. Rajon Rondo can do nothing but shoot for the entire tenure of his injury so obviously he would have been practicing his shooting, since he isn't one of those guys that wouldn't care about his game.

There, you have two players who will post better percentage next year and Josh Smith has an awful percentage because he takes undisciplined shots. I am pretty sure a decent coach can control him and even the coach can't, Rondo will.

You can't base numbers from the previous season and try to belittle any possibilities.

Thsy aren't playing together

If they were they would be pretty amazing.

If teams were sending us to the foul line than we would be in pretty good shape.

Despite what people think usually its the crappier teams tryimg to hack a whoever and usually it fails

Friend, Rondo has been in the league for SEVEN years, Howard has been in the league for NINE years, Josh Smith has been playing for NINE years. They are not going to miraculously become better free throw shooters.

I'll take it from this pivot that you abandon your prior argument?

Free throw shooting matters. You can have one bad FT% shooter on the team - not three - and if you have three, they can't be almost your entire salary cap.

Doesn't work that way, buddy.

I play basketball on a team (as I am sure others here do too) and yes, it does work that way. There is no invisible wall holding anyone back from being a good shooter. Its about knowing the basic fundamentals of shooting and then practicing, a lot.

As for miracle, you obviously didn't follow Derrick Rose's shooting. Rondo was making far more jump-shots last year before he got injured than he was the year before.

This is a lot of unsupported conjecture. There were a few threads today about the three of them on the same team being so *amazing!* It assuredly would not be.

Anytime any of them got the ball in the paint, he'd be mercilessly fouled. They'd have to make the shots, and would only be able to do so at a low rate. Since none of them have jumpers - what would they do? Pass to the likes of Courtney Lee, and maybe if lucky, OJ Mayo? Then why not just get Mayo and a bunch of scrubs?

You can have one bad free throw shooter on your team - and we have one!

Derrick Rose has always shot free throws at league average or better rate. Maybe you're a little young? These are grown men. Rondo has never shot better than 64.7% of his free throws. That's not good enough for an elite point guard.
