Cleaning house for the Howard signing, I guess?

I am at a loss how Brooks went from a 20 ppg scorer to waiver wire fodder in the 3-4 years that were supposed to be the start of his prime. Perhaps we can pounce and get a cheap backup PG?

Brooks is a guy I'd be interested in going after if Rondo were traded.  Brooks could be a cheap pickup who could start in a pinch and average something like 15 or 16 points with a handful of assists and a steal on relatively okay shooting percentages.  Maybe somebody would give us some assets for him after he puts up some nice numbers.

Thing is, these days guards like Brooks are . . . not quite a dime-a-dozen, but it seems like another undersized shot-happy point guard comes into the league every year.  Look at the numbers Kemba Walker put up last season for that awful Charlotte squad.  Look at what Isaiah Thomas has done on the Kings.  Look at what Nate Robinson did in the playoffs this year.  I'd say Brandon Jennings is kind of a deluxe version of that, too.  Ty Lawson is basically the best-case scenario for that sort of player.  J.J. Barea showed a couple years back how valuable that kind of player can be in the right situation, but clearly not worth sinking a lot of money into.

Those guards, unless they bring something else to the table, are not really that valuable because what they do on the court is easy to replace for cheap.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I don't know what ainges plan is but to me picking him up would be a good option. Could entice someone further down the road and has shown the ability to be a decemt player in the past as well.

Can't see him commanding much of anything

man they are going all in for Dwight Howard. It'll be funny if Dwight doesn't go there

I would be happy with Aaron Brooks as backup PG.

I think it's down to Lakers or Rockets.

I could see Dwight taking the extra money to stay in LA, but the situation in Houston seems like such a fit that even a diva like Dwight can't resist.
