I agree, however I would like to see the Cs consolidate some players like Lee, Bass, Crawford, and Humphires to open up spots to sign some low cost higher ceiling players.

ex Cole Aldrich, Luke Babbit,Xavier Henry,Greg SMith ??

Then hire a coach with the goal of really developing player this season.

Sooo in other words, Danny is highly active and likely to make a big splash?

This is completely irrational but I would love to hear that the C's are meeting with Josh Smith, Tyreke Evans or Millsap. Want to see that they are exploring other options besides just tanking.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If they cannot make 2 impact additions of the caliber of Smith/Howard, I agree with sitting the free agency out and shooting for an all star in the next draft. No need tying up money to become mediocre.

Continue accumulating assets such as picks and expiring players and let Danny wait for the right opportunity to make a huge splash.

I personally HATE the idea of being a spectator.

If the Celts aren't going to be able to acquire a free agent/s this year, who's to say they'll be able to next year and the year after?

The idea of a successful front office should be to be aggressive.

I am not saying you should necessarily be filling up your cap space with garbage contracts and if you can,  deal your own garbage contracts along the way like Bass and Lee.

BUT I do think Danny should remain in driver mode rather than pedestrian mode when it comes to putting a championship caliber team on the court.

And if signing a free agent this summer enables you to do that, then he should go for it!

Of course we are.  The plan is to tank.  Signing quality free agents is counterproductive this year.  The idea is to bottom out, take a shot at one of the 5-8 major prospects in the 2014 draft, and build from there.

This team is selling, not buying.  If we're having discussions it's probably with disgruntled teams who missed out on Chris Paul and are warming up to the idea of taking a risk on trading for Rajon Rondo.
