I'm honestly just confused at this point.  I guess we could still bring in an Evans or Smith and still be in the lottery but all of our moves this off season have pointed towards totally blowing it up and wait for the next draft.

I don't really agree.  All of our moves aren't pointing to blowing it up for next years draft, but a rebuild/retool of some point.  Maybe Danny takes players and picks and retools.

Well going off our supposed interest of Josh Smith and Tyreke Evans, I'm kinda scared if that's our retooling plan.  I rather just keeping building for the next off season, get a nice draft pick, and hopefully there's a guy worth the max.

Jeff green / Gerald Wallace
Josh smith / Bass
Bynum / Olynyk

That team if healthy, contends for a championship. Lol..

What depresses me is that while we're in a great position to retool, the names we've been tied to are inefficient, low-basketball IQ players like Smith and Evans. I hope we start getting into the mix for guys along the likes of Redick and Millsap rather than Smith and Evans.

Yes because those low iq inefficient bball players are scrubs ::)  But I get get what you are saying.  Still wont mind tyreke.  would love milsap too

I've been a bit lost since the trades. A couple family vacations during a lot of this process.

What kind of money do the C's have to spend on FAs?

Did the trades open up some room this year?

Or are we talking sign and trade deals?

Sign and trades is the way to go. Rumors of Evans visiting Boston tomorrow and Josh Smith mutual interest with Boston.

But rumors are rumors...

I just want vet min. guys on 1-year, non-guaranteed contracts.

I am mostly with you on this.  I think our best interest is served by clearing cap space and gathering assets.  If Smith, Evans, Al or Milsap can be attained for crazy cheap dollars, I would  be glad --  but other than that, I want lottery action and eventually a superstar FA.

No thanks. Getting guys on cheap 1 year deals will not provide any benefit to the Celtics nor to the fans who want to see exciting basketball and instead end up watching a flea market special on the court.

Well, you have a point. To their credit, they obviously made it into the NBA for many reasons, so they certainly aren't scrubs. I just think that they aren't smart investments. Of course, if they could be had at a bargain, Boston has to consider it. Both of them are young or hitting their prime, athletic, and still have untapped potential.

It would be nice if the Celtics could land ALL of the significant free agents, bu it's more likely they get NONE of them.

Sorry, but something is missing me here...Cs do not have a coach today...How they can sign FA? Is the coach who has to orientate the process of signing players...Ok?

Trading up to get Olynk to me is a bad omen for Josh Smith coming to Beantown.

No chance. Chicago, Indiana, Miami, Brooklyn (sigh) all better than us.

But it doesn't hurt to dream  ;D
