let's say you need 1 or maybe 2 superstars surrounded by a core or supporting cast...
if green/ab/sully are our core/supporting cast...then...how do they compare league wide...
here's the rub...
if you think they compare favorably...then...they indeed make a good core...
if you don't think they compare favorably...then...they do not make a good core...
obviously...danny thinks they make a good core...
for example...let's say you think griffin/daj/bledsoe with the clippers are better than green/ab/sully...then...how good is our core...
so...the bottom line is...how good do you rate our core on a scale from 1 to 5 with 1 being the best...
i think that answer tells you what we need in our top player or top 2 players...
then...the question is...is rondo one of those top players...if he is...then...we only need 1 other top player...if he is not...then...how do we get 2 top players...obviously...that means trading rondo for one...

If this trio is the core, then this team is going nowhere for a long, long time. How can you have a core that doesn't include a player who is even close to a superstar?

In general, you don't call the complementary pieces the core.

I think Danny likes to think of that as the core because those guys have value but having them as the centerpieces of the team means we'll be tanking and thus getting the chance to draft some legitimate pieces.

I hope someone out there believes me and offers me more in a trade.
