Hey guys,

For what it's worth, my best friend works at Sac International Airport. Always runs into players, celebrities, etc. called me this morning to tell me he spoke with Tyreke Evans for a couple minutes. He's a big kings fan and told him he hopes he stays with Sacramento, but Evans told him he's meeting with Boston, then NY, then Philadelphia. Said he wanted to stay in Sacramento but that's probably not happening anymore.

I know ainge has always liked Evans, however I'm not sure how he fits into our future with Bradley, brooks, etc.

Just wanted to let you all know, and this is a very trusted source here in Sac.

Thanks

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Danny has always liked Reke. If this is the magical Rondo trade, I'll burn down TD Garden.

Even if it includes Cousins or Thompson and a pick?

Can signed and trade players be combined with other players?
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Cousins, no. Unprotected pick, no. Thompson, yes.

I don't believe they can.

It would have to be for Rondo, because both need the ball in their hands to be effective , and both aren't very good shooters .

How about Rondo for Evans and an unprotected 2014 pick?

Aren't the Nets combining a signed-and-traded Bogans with the other guys?  Or is that gonna be some convoluted split-transaction deal where they're technically just getting Terry for him?

No surprise that Danny's interested in Tyreke.  Don't know if he can even be called a PG at this point, though, so a Rondo trade seems like a poor fit.

Calling MarShon Brooks such a big part of our future that he might potentially dissuade us from acquiring far better players seems like an awfully pessimistic viewpoint of our future.

You don't pass on a guy like Tyreke Evans for MarShon Brooks.  You cut bait with Brooks in that instance.

Let me first say that I absolutely HATED his play his first three seasons. However, last season he made tremendous strides in refining his game so that it was more efficient and team-friendly. He used to be an absolute black hole but no more.

I haven't heard much regarding Tyreke at all, and I believe it's because there really isn't a market for him. After his gorgeous statistical first year, the flaws of his game really came out, and his value tumbled. There's absolutely no reason the Celtics shouldn't be checking in on someone who could prove to be a bargain.

That being said, when examining his potential impact on the Celtics, it's very tricky. Tyreke is versatile and can play PG, SG, and SF. However, even though he's less of a black hole now, he still operates best with the ball in his hands. He's most dangerous driving in and collapsing the defense, and not setting up for the perimeter or mid-range jumper. Shooting is not his strength. Given all these points, I really question the effectiveness of putting him alongside Rondo.

I would much rather have Evans and Cousins than Evans and Thompson, probably even more than Evans, Thompson and a first.

Last year we got Lee in a S&T for Moore, Johnson, and Pavlovic, who went out in a S&T.  There are a lt of restrictions for sign-and-trades, but I don't believe that multiple players in a deal is one of them.

Rondo for Thompson, Hayes, and an unprotected 1st

Lee + filler for S+T Tyreke

Furthermore, in the package we're getting in return from Brooklyn, Bogans will be a S&T. There might be certain conditions attached, but you can absolutely include a S&T as part of a bigger package.

You are DEFINETELY taking my quote out of context. Brooks is a good young prospect, my point was moreso long term I would always choose Evans over brooks. I mean to me it's not even close. But short term, brooks is great for us because our team will suck, we will get a better draft pick, and we can build his trade value up and ship him out. I think we are on the same page though
