Rondo makes us too good?

I'm reading a lot of posts suggesting that we should trade Rondo because he'll help us win games.

We need to get players who can help us lose so that we can eventually turn those players into players that will help us win?

I don't know, call me old fashioned, but I'm not buying into the "losing to win" plan.  I think not enough people are considering the losing begets more losing factor in all of this.  Racing to the bottom is too risky for me.  There's a fairly good chance that if we do that, we won't be able to get back out.

Too many people here excited about being awful and chasing after a high lottery pick next year.  Wiggins, Parker,  nor any of the other 5 guys are guaranteed, even as a bottom dwelling team.

Want no part of that kind of thinking. Building for the future is the Celtics way not tanking. Rondo is a special talent and someone you can build around. I have serious doubts he can be replaced as easily as some suggest. He is a top 5 point guard. What makes people think that we can just grab another one off the shelf when the time is right. We don't have to suck to win our next championship. We just need to be smart and get character guys who want to win. You can't do that and tank at the same time.

Agreed that I'd like to see Rondo sit out for most, if not all of the year.

The last thing I'd want him to do is to have visions of the D-Rose backlash dancing in his head, making him try and force his way onto the court early, only to reinjure himself.

see Cavs or Wizards both with great PG. but you need a good TEAM to win which we currently do not have.

That's a good point I haven't thought about much. I still currently see our post-trade roster being better than the Cavs/Wizards at this point, but of course there are more moves to come.
