Give them real NBA playing time. Why not? We're not trying to win.
Iverson is playing abroad this year. Olynyk is NBA-ready. Joseph might be D-League depending on how our roster is filled out.
how is iverson playing abroad if we drafted him?

Maybe that player will have a bigger role abroad. Maybe they can develop more so that when they join their NBA team, they can be more ready to contribute. Teams might request they go abroad so their cap space won't be affected by him. It's absolutely allowed and happens all the time.
As long as they are playing and developing does it matter. Competition will be best in the NBA but playing time will be scarce.
