Iverson is playing abroad this year. Olynyk is NBA-ready. Joseph might be D-League depending on how our roster is filled out.

Give them real NBA playing time.  Why not?  We're not trying to win.

Players go/remain abroad all the time even when a team drafts him. It happens all the time. Maybe that player will have a bigger role abroad. Maybe they can develop more so that when they join their NBA team, they can be more ready to contribute. Teams might request they go abroad so their cap space won't be affected by him. It's absolutely allowed and happens all the time.

Players can play overseas even if they are drafted. His NBA rights are still ours.

I'm hoping he shows enough in summer league for the C's to get him to stay over here this year.

As long as they are playing and developing does it matter.  Competition will be best in the NBA but playing time will be scarce.

Easier to build him as an asset with visibility over here, and of course that he's raw contributes to the quality of 2014 pick they can get.
