a late bloomer, 7 ft tall, 7'2 wingspan, 260 pounds but moves pretty well. Scouting is has underrated iq, rebounding skills, post scoring skill and a very good motor.

Is this guy a pickup to makeup for losing out on swift a few year back =]

But all kidding aside for a late 2nd round pick for peanuts, this pickup could turn out to be really good. It would be sad for Melo if Iverson beats him out for playing time

I think Colton will beat Melo. He's projected to be strong as an ox and he has an offensive feel for the game, especially in the post.

He's not very reliable defensively but he rebounds the heck out of the basketball.

Colton Iverson and Fab Melo can bang heads in practice until one or both of them are tough enough to be rim protectors in real games.

Kinda like Baby and Powe used to go at it hard core .. . but both dudes are 6'11" not 6'6".

I've got no illusions that Iverson will be on the roster opening night.

But I do find it interesting that Ainge moved up/acquired picks specifically to nab two seven-footers in this draft. Can't help but wonder what, if anything, this might mean for Fab Melo.

I think they're expecting something out of Melo in 2015...Perk-type project.  He'll spend most of the season in Maine again.

Bingo!

I think Iverson and Melo are going to be set up to compete for minutes. Let's see if Melo has the heart and work ethic to separate himself from a big, tough, rough guy like Iverson.

I really would like a good big man coach to work with both of these guys...Olynyk and Sullinger, too! Sully is going to bang on Kelly, and if it can make him better inside that's a win. Kelly is going to make Sully really learn how to defend in space, and if that can make Sully a better defender in space that's going to be a win. Melo and Iverson constantly going against each other should make them better, too.

Yeah, but we need to get a good coach in to work these guys.

What Colton will offer for us is rebounding.

He's supposed to be this strong kid and rebounds really well. If he can do that consistently, anything else he can offer is gravy.

There's no way that Melo spends a rebuilding year in Maine. They'll throw him into the fire at least a little bit.

As for Iverson, he probably doesn't have any future with us but I like his style. I hope he goes in and pounds the tar out of Melo every day in practice.

Colton is already better than Fab Melo.

But I do like that the roster is getting taller and bigger.

That got a TP. So true.
Funny that we will be analyzing- no, over analyzing- all the growth pains and hiccups these rookies go thru. After all, it's all we've got now.

So true. Also, if you thought we agonized about Jeff Green before, just wait till next year.

If he can do that in a game, with a hand in his face, he's a heck of a find at 53!

Danny could use Fab for this year's tanking, then let him go.

I don't see why he couldn't just stay in Boston for the year. It's not like he'll be holding the team back or anything.
