I'd be really surprised if Humphries, Bogans, Evans are here for very long.

Pleasantly surprised to see Kris Joseph back.  Always thought he had the potential to become a rotation player for someone.
would like to see if joseph can be 3rd string swing man off bench
like evans, need to keep him, happy vet off bench, affordable, tough, rebounding machine

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Wallace can't be amnestied and he has 3 years left.

Humphries is an expiring so I think he's trade bait.

Evans is a cheap productive player i think we keep him for now.

Wow  :o...maybe win 20 if Rondo is healthy..Still shaking my head at drafting Olynyk..the one player i didnt want in this draft as same as last year when i was hoping they wouldnt pick Fab melo. Can they use the amnesty on Gerald Wallace??

Same here. I hated the olynyk pick and I hated the Melo pick. Anyway, I sincerely hope Danny isn't done. I hope he flips one of the PFs for a center but does so without giving up any picks.

Correction we got Brooks not Teletovic which makes more sense, IMO.

Rondo Williams Jones
Bradley Lee Brooks
Green Wallace Joseph
Bass Sullinger Evans Humphries White
Randolph Olynyk Iverson Melo

I included the China 3.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
PG:  Rondo, Pressey
SG:  Bradley, Lee, Crawford, Brooks
SF:  Green, Wallace, Bogans, Kris Joseph
PF:  Sully, Bass, Randolph
C:  Humphries, Melo, Olynyk,

I think there are still at least a few moves to be made before next year. We still need a starting center, unless you believe that Fab Melo will become that guy (in which case congratulations for being the most optimistic person in the history of the world.

1. Humphries will either get dealt before the season starts (someone on twitter already suggested that the rumor of Humphries for Ben Gordon could resurface. My hope is that he gets extended minutes produces to the tune of a double double then nets us another first.
2. I think we do something with the non guaranteed guys, presumably we are also getting back a non guaranteed contract, hopefully we can move it for someone that will help us (Thomas Robinson wasn't traded as expected last night but the Rockets need to shed salary to offer Dwight the max.
3. Crash used to be one of my favorite players, he was a plus defender that excelled in the open court and rebounded excellently. To me he is much better suited for a small ball running lineup 4 than a 3 because of his lack of shooting. Last season the Nets had one of the slowest paces in the league (28th), I hope the style and him playing out of position contributed to his career worst year and not age. I am cautiously optimistic that he will play great to start the year, so that we can move him for an expiring contract.
4. I think Bass and Lee have to have some value around the league. Bass especially seems like a good glue guy for a playoff team.
5. I think Brooks could fetch us something for the future

It'll be interesting following this team next year. On one hand I want them to be awful so they can get a guy in next years draft who will put them in the playoffs in 2014-2015 (I think this is actually plausible).

On the other hand it would be a lot of fun to see them overachieve, for us to over achieve I think you need a few of the following to happen: Rondo and Green to have career years, Bradley and Sullinger to improve, Crash and Humphries to have bounce back years and/or Olynyk ends up being the player I think he is. If a bunch of things from this list happen we won't get a high draft pick to help us build, but pieces will present themselves that we can build around.

I obviously love KG and Pierce but I will be rooting for them to lose every single game they play in Brooklyn (I will also be rooting for the Hawks to suck). To me it wouldn't be a shock if the Nets were derailed by injuries. Remember of their starting 5 every player (besides Joe Johnson) is either old or has past injury history.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

That's 19 players they'll be looking at for next year.  obviously 4 have to go.  that's not counting any summer league invitees that may look like keepers (and let's face it, with this roster, it's not a stretch to see one or two outplay the guys we have under contract already).

I think the likely castoffs (barring a trade to thin the herd) are the China 3 and Pressey.

If possible, contracts being ignored here, I'd shed one of Crawford or Brooks (redundant), Bogans, White and either Joseph or Randolph.  I don't mind either of the last 2 since I think they're both high-motor guys that are nice to have as the 14/15 spot on a roster.

If at all possible (which I'm just now seeing how) I'd love to flip Humphries and Wallace for someone useful.  Preferably a legit, experienced center.  not expecting an all-star but someone that could eat minutes at that position without being completely useless and would give Olynyk, Melo and Iverson some time to develop in small minutes initially in the season.

Too many players right now...

Marc Stein just said they will be looking to move Rondo next...and quickly

IF they keep him, final roster will look like this

1. Rondo,
2. Pressey OR Jones
3. Sully
4. Lee
5. Bradley
6. Green
7. Bass (would love to see him dealt)
8. Wallace
9. Olynyc
10. Humphries (think he gets moved)
11. Brooks
12. Crawford
13. Bogans (think he gets dealt)
14. Iverson
15. melo (d league)

China 3 and Joseph don't make the team...don't see them keeping bogans, brooks and crawford...somebody in that group goes

Team has no size at all...Iverson and Olynyc are pretty much it...If that team is the 2014 Cs..then 30 wins maybe...and I think rondo will be gone as soon as someone give danny a 2014 first rounder
