 Wow.

 Lopez
 Kevin Freakin Garnett
 Pierce
 Joe Johnson
 D Williams

That's impressive I say 48 wins for some reason.
LOL... you're kidding right?

They won 49 with Wallace and Humphries and yet you have them winning 48 with KG and Pierce.

You severely undervalue how good KG and Pierce are.  When KG plays, he has as big a defensive impact as any player in the NBA.  Pierce is one of the most versatile scorers in the entire league and even at his age proves he can carry an offense. You pair them with D-Will (who i still say is better than Rondo), Joe Johnson (absolutely better than any SG we have) and Lopez (probably the best big man KG has ever played next to)... that's a dangerous team if the old fellas stay healthy.   That team has size and experience.

Possibly, but D-Will has been in Cut-That-Cheque mode for so long I'm not sure he can get out of it.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Jet will be good next season, sadly for Boston.

The salaries of the starting five is a record no?

The nets don't have much of a bench after the trade

Blatche hopefully will be there.

Completely forgot about the Jason Terry of it all. Tip of the hat to LGC88.

Marshon Brooks.

Hopefully CJ Watson as well.

Plumlee is break glass if emergency.

They'll be thin at the 3 (and even the 4 if Blatche leaves)...but Brooks and Watson can potentially net them something in return.

Maybe they'll throw a few games during the regular season to keep the guys healthy. Maybe they'll indeed have a record close to your predicted 50-ish.

But playoffs are won with top heavy talent. This ...screams... that.

I agree with the 50 win speculation. I cant see them getting more than that due to KG and PP's age. Ive heard CJ Watson may be on his way out (wants more $$) but if Blatche stays, he could become a force with KG's mentorship. Hopefully they topple the Heat.

Nah we have Brooks now. They keep Evans. Team won't have a great bench but plenty of veteran experience. I think they'll make a good playoff push

Don't like KG at the 4 for them. Overall, they'll rival NYK and Indiana, but they're still not anywhere good enough to beat Miami in a seven game series.

It's a pity they will lose CJ Watson. Jason Terry is a downgrade.

Keeping Reggie Evans was a bad decision. He doesn't fit their team. Will hold them back too. They needed someone with more defensive quickness alongside KG and/or B.Lopez + more shooting range offensively to spread the floor for Brook Lopez in the post.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

I disagree. Indiana exposed Miami using Roy Hibbert. He dominated, and I don't think Hibbert is even that good. Lopez is much more skilled - add KG to that, and the Heat are going to be forced to look high and low for someone to help Birdman out. It's more than they can handle down low.

Then you add Pierce/Johnson/D-Will...scary, scary team. Lots of posting up and one-on-one play. Plus, they're smart and they're vets.
I like Marcus Smart

It is an All-Star 5. If the older guys get well-rested every game (paced properly, say 25-28 mins for JJ,KG and PP) they got a good shot beating the Pacers and Heat. They need players though to keep Lebron - who remains the best player in the East - at bay. The Pacers are not much of a problem to them. If Wade and Lebron is their problem, the Heat will similarly have a match up problem against DWill, Lopez and KG.

55+ wins.

Easy 50 win team in the east.

Provided KG and PP have their minutes managed properly, I'm putting my early prediction at 55 wins.  If the team gels properly, I don't find it all far fetched to say they are a legit title contender.

This is a risky move for Brooklyn, but the ceiling here is definitely a title.

I don't think KG and PP put the Nets over the top. In addition, after these moves they don't have very much money.

I don't think Paul should start, but then again I don't think he'll be the #1 guy in this offense, so I can deal with it. If Jet can find the bottom of the net this season, that's definitely helpful to their bench, but I mean JET and Stackhouse are kinda redundant.

Idk...They may break 50 wins but I think their ceiling is a division banner. They're not stopping the Heat or the Pacers for that matter.

Agreed and if Rose is healthy Chicago is better as well.  They were the #4 team this year, I don't see them being more then the #4 next year.

So they have Korver, Blatche and Reggie Evans off the bench now. Oh. And don't forget the Jet.

Usually I don't do this (list lineups out) but this is sick:
D-Will/Jet
Joe Johnson/Korver
Pierce
Garnett/Reggie Evans
Lopez/Blatche

They can basically be 2 deep at the 3 with Joe Johnson and Pierce.

Kidd knows the Mavs' schemes. Maybe the Jet will make a comeback running the plays he ran with Dirk with KG now.

This team will be very scary at points of the season.

I'm predicting very physical basketball.

KG and Reggie Evans. I wanted that in the Celtics 3 years ago.
