Funny on the radio and other places I read it's a great trade for Celtics and Humphries is rumored to be moved to ATL in a s&t for Smith?

Sweet.

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce for the corpse of Gerald Wallace and the future versions of Fab Melo, JuJuan Johnson, and J.R. Giddens.

I'll be rooting for the Nets next year.  Hopefully they trounce us when we play, because lottery balls are more important than wins.

wow. quitting on the celtics? I definitely wish KG the best though.

90%+ of Celtics fans are going to be rooting for losses and lottery balls.  I'll distract myself by rooting for a team actually trying to compete.

I figure we'll be allowed to root for wins again starting in about 2020.  By then, maybe we'll have the chance to make it to the second round.

way to go Danny

a win will be VERY rare next season.....i expect the worst  season ever in Celtics history

Danny you moron,  why didn't you trade Rondo for Noel  ::)
You should pray that the Celtics have their worst year ever when the 2014 draft has two and
maybe three franchise players.

You don't get better by being mediocre every year. Only a moron would not get something for KG and PP before their tanks are empty. Three first round picks for them and Terry's contract is a STEAL!

No you can rebuild. Everyone loves this trade for the Celtics except the the small minority of crazies who think they should go out a 40 win team and run in circles for years

The feeling Simmons is projecting is the frustration that most of us are feeling at this point.

If Ainge's objective was to make the 2013-14 Celtics one of the worst in the league, he's accomplished it in less than 3 hours.

Olynyk?

KG, Pierce, and Terry for Humphries, Wallace, Evans, Bogans, and 3 projected late 1st round picks (next year's draft pick in a reportedly loaded draft will be in the late 20s and the only reason it's called loaded is because it's top heavy not because there'll be value at pick #25+).

If we pull that off I'll be happy. Rondo, Green, Wallace, Smoove, Sully, etc. Not a bad group, though I'm not a big on Wallace and that contract. Maybe we can s&t him for Smith

I don't like the trade either, just picks for KG/Pierce is rough.

But I don't see any great alternatives, we're probably a 6 to 8 seed next year if KG/Pierce don't drop off a bunch and Sully stays healthy?

BRIDGE YEAR. Relax people.
We must be in the 2014 lotto. Wallace is 31, not 81. It's the first move of several.

Mad respect to PP KG JET. They'll be happier on a team that wants to compete for the title.

We knew it was coming, but now that it's happened, it is definitely like a punch in the gut.  I am ready to rebuild, but it will definitely take some getting used to.

As a fan, I'm very thankful for the contributions of these 2 to the team, especially Pierce.  He's been my favorite player ever since his rookie season...the man inspired my username on AIM way back then, which is the same one I have here and pretty much use as my handle for most online subscriptions.

Pierce will be back in Celtic green to finish out his career...whether it is to actually play a season, half-season, one game, or just the sentimental signing of a 1 day contract and then call it quits, he will be back.  He started a Celtic, he will finish a Celtic.

Gotta thank those 2 for so much.

Absolutely disgusting trade.

We get Wallace's broken down body and cap strapping $30mill destroying any flexibility and a few 1st rounders, none of which have any lottery guarantee and will likely be late 1st rounders.

I will surely be rooting for Brooklyn next year and trying to watch the train wreak of a Celtics season.

Get Wiggins out of your mind people. With a core of Rondo/Bradley/Green/Sullinger, this team is far too mediocre to be landing a top 3 pick.

I'm finishing my beer and going to bed. Extremely unhappy with this trade but I wish the absolute best to Pierce and Garnett.

This sums it up perfectly. Terrible trade, and there's no way to cut it. Supporters of the trade will blindly say "Hey, we get assets! That's how you rebuild!". Well, wake up. We could've gotten assets other ways without having to take in a washed up $10M/yr player.

I'd rather have them compete and win than basically give up for a CHANCE to get a high draft pick. And it's not like we will get that chance anyway.

This trade just destroyed whatever chemistry this team has. We didn't get good value to top it all. Another contract who's going to be stuck with us, who may not even be productive at all. Is Wallace playing ahead of Green. We may get younger players, but good luck trying to establish a team identity with this team.

I'm absolutely disgusted.

Honestly, what were people expecting? We were no longer contenders. With the pre-trade lineup, we'd be a sure 6-8th seed and most likely first round fodder for the next 2 years. Atlanta Hawks territory. And then, when pierce and KG retire, we'd be stuck with practically nothing to start rebuilding with.

I'm a huge pierce fan and I hate seeing him go, but I'm glad he'll be with KG and I'm glad they're going to a contender. Doc leaving was the first domino to fall. The trade hurts but we all should've expected this.

That Wallance contract makes me weep, what the hell was Ainge thinking?!?

I guess it was inevitable, is it wrong to feel this depressed about Basketball??

Not sure how I'm going to feel at the start of the new season seeing Pierce in a Nets jersey.
