No hating here. Just talk about what your excited about. Lets look on the bright side. I like that he can really score 18 points per game in 26 minutes per game for a number one team. Add that was the only season he was seven feet tall.

I believe he grew seven or eight inches his Junior year when he decided to read shirt and work on his body. Think about that he was recruited as a 6'4" guard and was unhappy about not playing much and thought about transferring. John Stockton talked him out of it, he takes a year off and is magically a seven footer with guards skills. He also was in the 97 percentile in Low post scoring efficiency.

The way things are going, he might be the best player on the team next year.

I love the pick.

I could be wrong on how he will turn out but the kid is ultra skilled, especially in the post. Something that is a rarity in the NBA right now. He has a ton of offensive skill that convinces me he'll will undoubtedly contribute on the scoring end.

I understand he needs some more work, especially on the defensive end and rebounding but hey, a lot of prospects in this draft has a ton of work on something else as well.

I love the pick. I believe his NBA floor would be Zydrunas Ilgauskas, not the most sexiest of names but in a bad draft, getting a player that could be similar to him is good value at mid 1st round. Or he could be the next Brook Lopez.

Good luck to Kelly Olynyk. I would have taken Shabazz but hey, Olynyk is not a bad pick for me.

the fact we have people biotching about a big guy who can run the floor, shoot threes and post up is unbelievably petty. Who in the hell on our team now can do that? KG does not even want to post up anymore. NUFF SAID>

This guy reminds of two players in the NBA.

Kevin Durant and Dirk Nowitski

If he's 75% of either of those two this was a great pick.

I wish him well. He seems like a good kid. If he comes in and works his tail off, I'll certainly root for him.

Just wish Ainge hadn't given up so much to get him.

As I recall the last slow, can't jump, can't defend draftee from BC (British Columbia not the college) with great offensive skills and off the charts basketball IQ became a two time MVP.

Not many players can play all 5 positions. He's a high risk, high reward gamble but with his smarts and willingness to sacrifice to improve you have to like his chances of fulfilling his potential.

With trading Doc/KG/Pierce/Terry for four future first rounders 2nd round picks aren't worth much. You only have so many roster spots for young players.

Exactly.  And we just bought one last night.

Rare a 2nd rounder is worth much.

I am a huge fan of drafting players that are actually good at basketball- like, who can dribble, pass, and shoot. I also LOVE late bloomers, because they know what it's like not to be the prettiest girl in school.

Kelly Olynyk looks pretty now, to me. He even sounds pretty.
