not only that, we moved up for this uncoordinated guy?

The Celtics send Dallas the 16th overall pick and two future second-rounders, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Does not help with our interior defense problem.

Does not help with our rebounding problem.

He would fit better on a win-now team, not a rebuilding squad.

We gave up two 2nds to move up 3 spots.

Shabazz was picked by Utah with the 14th pick next, and they probably had the biggest grin in the world.
Count me out.

Between this and the Nets talks, I'm not too happy with Ainge's dealings today. And the fact that Olynyk probably would've been available at #16 anyway is even worse. Either way, I'm not a fan of Olynyk and am pretty p---ed he's who we drafted.

Terrible. Shabazz was on the board and we draft freaking kelly olynk. I'm discusted, I was all for Danny Ainge and his way he handled the pierce/KG deal now I hope he gets fired.

I think I'm the only guy who's excited about Olynyk.

Low post scoring, that's another threat to our offense. Midrange game, runs the floor well. Underrated tough (this guy played hockey). He's not the rim protector I understand, but he's very skilled.

I like it.

I'm sure ya'll are overreacting.  Everyone in this draft supposedly is terrible anyways.  Not sure why we gave up the 2nd rounders, though.

Nah I like it too. We're talking about a 7 footer here with a lot of upside. We haven't had a good center in awhile. This could turn out well.

I'm gonna trust DA and the scouts over a bunch of disgruntled fans who think this guy sucks.

Positive:
-He might be able to shoot at an NBA level, thought his 3p% in college sucked.
-He's tall

Negative:
-Athletic markers (blocks and steals) are usually very good measures of transition to NBA. His are bad.
-His WARP projection (which is definitely flawed) was 16th
-His wingspan is LESS than his height (terrible)
-His rebounding is bad for his size
-It's been shown recently that the EARLY years of college are best at predicting NBA success (getting better as you are an old guy in college vs. freshman tends to cause you to become overrated...hello plumlee)...and Olynyk SUCKED his first 2 years, so he's also old.
-His closest statistical comparisions are  Markieff Morris (96.8), Jordan Hill, Darnell Jackson, Jeff Pendergraph



Really really hope i'm wrong, but I wouldn't be shocked if his career is like that of Nick Fazekas.

I asked my friend who is a big time Gonzaga fan and this was his response:

Me: oh that's interesting ...how much did he grow??

Gonzaga buddy:  His first season as an inside guy was last year and he was dominant. Good penetation and moves. Knows the game though cuz od his history at guard
