Yeah Atlanta is getting hosed pretty badly
I agree on its face it is a hosing (and I made the trade), but the only reason Atlanta does this is to sign Dwight Howard.  They don't just make this trade in a vaccuum, but if making the trade directly allows them to sign Dwight, then it takes the trade to a different place.

So you're winning the trade somewhat but you're creating a team in your conference with a young-ish core that (when healthy) is better than your team for the foreseeable future.
Yeah, but, I can easily see a team of Rondo, Smith, and Howard totally imploding.

Indeed. Combined maturity level might not reach your average high school kid.

I don't think ATL is giving up Horford AND Teague for Rondo, when his value is at an all time low. I'd still be in favor of a deal that included Horford and Rondo, with an additional asset coming to the Cs.

Why do people act like Horford is untouchable?

I like him a lot too and would love him but I dont think he's some dominating force or anything. There are a bunch of similar sized guys if rather have than him or at least are close.

Plus he's regressed a bit due to injury or whatever the past couplle years

I like Horford too but I would not trade Rondo for him.

I would absolutely love this (or a similar) deal. Not only for Horford´s talents, but also because I think he might be the best player in his age bracket to lead a young team.

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Honing in what I think is a realistic option a bit -- Horford and Jenkins for Rondo and Terry. I'd say that's fairly sensible for both sides.
