I think it will happen; I just can't see them paying Paul nor buying him out and watching him go to the Clippers.

It will suck hope he stays with us, and if anything ship him to a contender at the trade deadline.

My two requests on the day:

1) Don't trade Pierce just to get ensnared in a long and massive Josh Smith contract, and

2) Don't draft Shabazz.

If Cleveland is the target, and DA is looking to get picks, what else do the C's need to get in return to make $ match?

For instance, If we could send PP for the 19th and 31st, what other players need to come back?

I believe they are under the cap so the don't need to send anybody back

Nothing, Cleveland can absorb the entire contract.

When do you use next year's cap vs. this year's?  I think they've got room July 1st, but not for a trade that can be announced tonight.

I think one of the things people seem not to understand on this site is how important it is to acquire talent. Even if you don't like Josh Smith IMO it is a good idea to get him as long as the contract is deemed good value around the league. You never know if in the future he could be traded in a package to get that next superstar.

Another thing I see commonly over looked on this site is our team salary. IMO we want to keep our team salary high, it makes it easier to acquire other high paid players in trades.

My last opinion (on this post lol) is that it is pure fantasy to think we are going to get under the cap soon and land the best free agent on the market. Free agents that want to win want to play with other very good players. Almost all free agents that go to other teams do it by sign and trade at this point.

I think both your wishes will come true.
