It's possible that at #16 in this draft that could happen. I'd rather roll the dice on high reward individuals than take someone who will be in Europe or China in 2 years anyway. Or sit on the bench to Bass playing center.

Think positive, my man.

For every Jajuan, Ainge has found a Tony Allen, Perkins, Rondo, Jefferson, Sullinger, Delonte, etc.

At #16, I like the odds.  Ainge usually doesn't get the opportunity to draft that high.  He's usually in the 20's somewhere.

Yeah, not like he has a better success rate than anyone else who has consistently drafted at the end of rounds.

Ainge has been a fantastic GM, and a great drafter. Get over it.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
I have much more fear than that we will draft a player that doesn't have the body for the NBA. I am worried that we will trade Pierce and we won't get value for him. I am worried that we will trade Garnett and not get value.

I have a lot more faith in Danny's drafting than his trading and I expect us to make a trade on draft night. When he has drafted high he has done well, the Johnson pick was late in the first round, I think he will find something with the 16th pick in the draft.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

More likely than not, at 16, we will.

The JJJ pick didn't work out but it made so much sense at the time. He really had everything the team needed in a bench big man except he was just to weak. Had he been able to bulk up he would have had the perfect combo of skill set, length and athletism to. Ack up KG but it just did t happen.

No, I expect him to get another Avery Bradley, Tony Allen, Al Jefferson, D. West, Kendrick Perkins, Jared Sullinger, Big Baby Davis.

Anyone afraid of the draft or drafting another JJJ (outside of Bobcat fans lol) don't really realize that it is all a crap-shoot, it doesn't matter where you pick, of course the lower you get the better chance you have of picking someone good but even then, they aren't always right (*cough* Darko *cough*). I respect Danny's track record so I believe he will come through more often than not. After the (EARLY) lotto, I just hope for the best and accept that the player selected might not provide anything for us. Again, I respect what DA has done, so I expect he will either get us someone who can play in the NBA or trade the pick for someone already proven.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Agree with OP and CoachBo. With the exception of Jefferson, every one listed here benefited from growing up around the Big Three. Add Bradley to that list.

Given different circumstances, I can rather easily imagine a different outcome for each of them.

Edit: Also, OP, doesn't (s)he go by JaJuanna now?

When you pick 16th in a poor depth draft, it's more likely than not! If he DOESN'T end up with that type of player he will have hit on another. We need to jump the requirement up to at least 3 years of college before draft or else this type of draft will become more and more common. If guys played 3 years, then we would see a lot more solid players come out and an improvement in the NBA's overall level of play. Then the 16th pick would actually be a positive versus a negative.
