i was thinking the same thing, would be agreat defensive coach. Great motivator, great chance at statrting a second career, dont know if hes going to do that though.

Of course none of us know whether KG has the mentality, temperament or interest in head-coaching.  Based on observations, I'd say the way his intensity seems to manifest is not ideal for coaching an NBA team.  However -- maybe a big-man coach for the right projects.

Well, 'anything's possible', but successful head-coaching in the NBA involves myriad skills and contextual nuances that in fact may be challenging even for as bright, talented and hard-working man as KG.  But most importantly, he may have absolutely no interest/desire in head-coaching.

I say GO with KG unless we hear he not interested. If he's on board, there no better move - team him with a solid supporting assistant coaching staff and this could be dynamic. Plenty of stars would consider coming.

KG doesn't go near the bench when he's not playing and disappears from the game during the off season. He has enough money to make sure his great grandchildren never have to ever work. This is not the actions of a man that would want to continue to be around the game after playing. Especially that soon after retiring.

Doubt KG ever coaches in the NBA. Remember what team mates and Doc have said of KG. He will try to teach you but if you give him one moment where he thinks not your taking him seriously  and that is it. He shuts you out and you never get his teaching again. Not the mentality of a coach, IMHO.

Bird was actually reasonable. KG demands a 100% effort from his teammates every night and will howl and scorn if you don't.

Rondo respects him. KG can attract Stars better than anyone we have. This is a no brainer.
