Based on past statements, it seems like the league would not approve the Clips sending out Jordan and a 1st for KG. They do not think that the Clips would be getting enough value.

Can you make this work without the 1st round pick?

The league won't allow any further transactions between the Clippers and Celtics this summer because they are convinced whatever moves they make will be connected to / contingent upon the Doc Rivers deal.

It's not actually about the Clippers getting "enough value."  The value aspect of it was only relevant insofar as it caused suspicion in the league office that the KG for DJ trade was not a standalone deal, i.e. the Clippers were only agreeing to it because they knew they were getting Doc Rivers, too.

So doing it without the 1st round pick wouldn't make a difference.

even if we're able to pull off just the first trade of KG+Sully for Cousins, i'd be ecstatic. I'd even throw in Bradley and one of our own picks if necessary. I think Rondo+Green+Cousins would be a fine trio to build around (if we could indeed harness the attitudes). Plus, if we could flip Pierce in a 3-team trade to get Josh Smith, then the C's would be pretty nasty.

My hope was that if there is a 3rd team included then the league would let it go through since it becomes an entirely new trade. If they vetoed it then it would be unfair to SAC.

why would KG accept a trade to a basement dwelling team? sacramento laughs at that trade, theyd rather keep cousins. new orleans isnot going to trade gordon for bradley. houston is keeping t-rob. memphis is not going to waste a trade exception for lee, especially when they already have the same player in tony allen.

these 6 way trades are jokes and never work.

It's not a 6 way trade, they're 3 independent trades that each could work on their own.

KG ends up with the Clippers in that trade not the Kings, as was intended before (plays for Doc again).

Tony Allen might not be coming back, and they need offense from the 2 guard and TA is all about defense. Lee shot 46% from the field.

It's been widely reported that TRob is on the block for a first so they can stash a Euro, but I think he can be had for an early second (non-guaranteed contract) and a trade exception for the cap savings (maybe throw in our China non-guaranteed contracts as well).

And Gordon for Bradley and Pierce was widely discussed previously (with NO either cutting Pierce or keeping him), I think they'd prefer getting a nice big TE to chase a star to pair with their young core rather than having to waive Pierce for 5m buyout and their fans seem excited at the opportunity to get Bradley and rid of Gordon:

There is a basis for all the trades, whether they'd be accepted or not is up for debate, but they aren't crazy ridiculous or anything.

I wouldn't. Despite his height limitations a lot of the reasons for his struggles in college and last year was due to the restrictions the bulging disc placed on his vertical. I think he's going to be a great pro. Might not have Cousins talent but we essentially got if healthy a top 5-7 pick in the draft last year. He'll be a better pro than Thomas Robinson.

That being said I would trade the 16 for T-Rob in a heartbeat

DMC is a legit center and i think that's harder to find than a useful 4. I like Sully but he strikes me as a solid role player who'll have a solid career rather than being one of the main building blocks of a rebuilding franchise. If DMC can get his act together, attitude-wise, then he's a block. Rondo is obviously another building block. Jeff Green would shine as a #3 guy.

another reason why I like the deal is because it also sends KG to the Clippers to play with Doc. i'm not pro-Clippers but i would like KG to end up playing his last 1 or 2 seasons how he wants it.

as for T-Rob and the Gordon trade, i'm indifferent. without the DMC trade, i don't think they'll really move the needle in terms of a "rebuild".
