To Cavs: Pierce, Rondo + 2015 1st

To Bos: 2013 1st + 31st, Casspi, Gee, Ellington

Celtics picks: 1st) Noel 16th) Schroeder (or move up for him) 31st) Ledo

Why the cavs do this trade: They are sick and tired of lotto picks. They want to win now. Rondo and Irving backcourt could be deadly , Varejao does the dirty work up front and Pierce provides the vet leadership the team hasn't had since losing lebron.

Why the celts do this trade: Its rebuild time. We all know how much Noel likes the Celtics and vice versa. Cavs are dreading having this pick so instead we could make their lives easier and draft a guy we would really like. Noel and Sully tandem in the near future sounds like a dream.  Schroeder seems like a pg Danny has been eyeying, bc he is like Rondo. Two highly quick and athletic picks (taking care of the two most spots in the lineup) , that could only bring tears to danny's eyes. Ledo is a risky but high reward pick.

Lineup possibility in the near future

Starting: Noel- Sully - Green- Ledo - Schroeder
Bench: Melo- Bass - AB - T Will - casspi - Gee-Ellington - 2014 pick

How about this lineup as a super fastrack to contending again??

because rondo and kyrie makes sense
Pick 2 Heat:
Pg: Jennings/Vasquez
Sg: Wade/R. Allen/Rivers
SF: Lebron/M. Williams
PF: Bosh/Humphries
C: B. Lopez/Dalembert/Anthony

This certainly is a big trade idea. Unfortunately, it just doesn't make sense. There's absolutely no way a Rondo/Kyrie backcourt works out.

Irving can play sg. Matter of fact imo he is a better scorer than passer. Rondo and irving back court can work.

On another note why this trade can work is so that cleveland can entice josh smith to come over. They have had interest for a while now. Cavs could give atl waiters and thompson or varejao and 19th pick.

I agree that Irving can play SG. However, regardless of him being PG or SG, he's going to want the rock in his hands. There's no way he's going to be content in becoming a spot-up shooter. Again, Rondo/Kyrie just isn't feasible.

What about this:

Bos Send: Pierce, Sully, Lee/Terry (their choice) and the #16 Pick

Cavs Send: #1 Pick, #33 Pick, Casspi, Other Filler if needed

Why Bos does it: We draft McLemore for our next big star

PG: Rondo / Terry
SG: McLemore / AB
SF: Green / Casspi
PF: Bass / Shav
C: FA / Melo

Why Cavs do it: They get Pierce for a vet SF, A good big in Sully, and a decent Pick

PG: Irving / #16 Pick
SG: Waiters / Lee
SF: Pierce / Gee
PF: Sully / Thompson
C: Varejao / Zeller

Imo rondo has no problem giving up the ball when its to players with more talent than him.

I don't think that'd be enough to entice the Cavs into giving up the #1 pick.

We could give them AB instead of Terry or Lee if that was not enough.

Yeah, and when he does that he becomes completely useless on the floor. It worked with Pierce in Boston because it happened so little. With Irving, that's going to be happening on at least half the plays. There's no way Cleveland is going to be happy with trading for Rondo and then seeing him be a non-factor half the time on offense.

We could give them AB instead of Terry or Lee if that was not enough.

That would actually be quite interesting. Still not convinced the Cavs would do it but it's certainly a lot more of a reasonable (and interesting) trade idea.

I think it gives them an interesting little lineup which I think would be good for 3rd seed in the east assuming health. Esp with AB involved gives them a bit of a defensive dynamic as well

I agree with that Cleveland team being a 3/4 seed, but Pierce's window is waning quickly. He has maybe 2-3 seasons left in him; will that be enough for Cleveland to add a few more pieces that make them championship contenders? Or are they content with simply making the playoffs again?

Noel is not NBA ready at 206 lbs.  Too skinny he will be a leaf in the wind.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.

What about 3 or 4 years from now?

His defensive numbers were on par with the likes of Anthony Davis, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Tim Duncan. Great company.
I like Marcus Smart
