Ok I was reading the articles coming out about our top coaching possibilities. I've heard Scott, Shaw, Frank and even the dreaded Fizdale rumor. I like Scott but I wouldn't want to give him more than $2m/yr, he'd want 4. Shaw has the credibility but all his interviews are not panning out.
So here is a thought, let KG coach the rebuild. Here are a few reasons why:
He already has a great relationship with Rondo
He can probably be had for $2M/year or less (ref. JKidd)
He's got a defensive mind which is in demand in today's NBA
I really think he'd be a good candidate. Maybe we could trade him as an "expiring" (read: retiring) to get assets and pick him up as our coach in the preseason. Who knows how legal that is but it's a though.
I really hope KG stays in the Celtics organization. I read a rumor he might go play adviser for the TWolves in a year. I'd like to have him here. He's my all-time favorite player so maybe I'm biased
