  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I just realized this while going through a number of available coaches. It got me thinking, we are headed for a rebuilding process, and why not go out of the box and hire a coach with a great resume and a ton of potential.

And nope, I'm not talking a former NBA coach, I'm talking about this guy.

That's right, that folks is Brad Stevens, Butler's head coach and was the most sought after coach in the NCAA.

Why you may ask, well his resume is outstanding. 139-40 for 5 seasons. The biggest win loss record is 11-4. 11 and 4 in the NCAA tournament with 5 different Butler teams who we all can admit is not as talented as the major programs, with only two players in the 5 years making it to the NBA, and yet still stood tall and once made the National Championship.

He's being praised in the CB community and is being compared to John Wooden which is probably a very high level of praise. His attention to detail and major focus is being lauded by his peers. Major programs are salivating and are eager to have him but he chose to stay in Butler. That tells something.

The fact that he's also young could very well play out with our future young guys. He can connect to these players the way he connects and motivates his Butler teams to look like world beaters.

While I understand the college level is different from the pro's, his potential is sky high and I don't see why he can't be successful in the NBA.

What are your thoughts? He's certainly a big risk, but there could be big rewards here.

This is a GOAT thread. Should definitely go down in the CB Hall of Fame.

Sorry, a sentence in a random thread does not quite compare to a dedicated thread with eleberate reasoning.

You're right. It is against CB rules. It is a good thing that didn't happen here.

Credits to Celtics4ever.

He did suggest this hiring first.

I love it. I drove the bandwagon and very happy it went right. I believe in Stevens. The fact that he can bring a Butler team with rarely 5 star recruits to a national championship sold me. He can maximize the ability of his players. He can coach!

Im so excited! Hoping that Celtics4ever and I are right on this one.

Not positive, but I think that's in reference to bumping your own thread as an "I told you so" ... this wasn't bumped by the OP.

Great job, Yoki! (and C4E - TP)
