I am curious what they get for KG, Pierce and Terry now.

I would be shocked if we bought out Pierce. With the commissioners office stalling the deal earlier because of the two relating transaction do you think he would be OK with a handshake agreement between the C's and the Clipps so Pierce gets bought out? I doubt it.

I think we can get something for him rather than nothing.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I'd be okay if this is a pick from this year's draft.

We could get somebody like Withey or Noqueira with the #25.

I would be totally disappointed if its from this year's draft.

Honestly, I think the "weak draft" / "strong draft" thing is overrated.

It makes a big difference if you're picking in the top 5, less so in the top 10, and very little difference outside of that.

This draft is actually quite deep when you're talking about the 20-40 range.  A #25 in this draft might actually be better than a #28 or #29 in next year's draft.

I agree and all things being equal an immediate pick is more valuable than a future pick.

NBA source said #clippers have offered 2014 first-round pick to #celtics for Rivers. Great draft. Low pick

Good job danny

Before when asked the question will you root for the Clippers if Doc, Kg and Pierce go there and the obvious answer was yes.

Now that we have their 2014 pick I would like a rash of injuries to put them into the lottery.

I think you're right on. People generally use "strong"/"weak" as shorthand to refer to the number of possible franchise players.

But it's obviously more complex than that.

Chad Ford' tier rankings, which just came out, show this. He has zero players this year in Tiers 1 and 2, twelve in Tiers 3 and 4 and a whopping 26 in Tier 5.

This means that in his view, picks 13-38 are completely flat in terms of available player quality.

Kind of a bummer, when you think about it. We have pick 16, which doesn't project to be all that more valuable than picks in the late 30s.

And, we actually had picks 32 and 39 but traded them (along with 45) for Courtney Lee.

I could not root for kg and the captain getting hurt doesn't feel right

How so?
A future pick could be worth anything, so it´s actual value depends quite a bit on how you sell it.
It´s also way better as piece of a package in a future trade than most players picked in that range.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I disagree on this.  If you've got organizational stability, it's much better to get better picks further in the future than crappier picks now.  Keep doing that enough, and eventually you get into a cycle where you have extra first rounders in every draft with little or no protection. It's similar to what the Pats do in football -- Belichek knows he has tons of job security, so is willing to trade this year's 4th rounder for next year's 3rd rounder, and then maybe trade that third rounder for the following year's second rounder.  You have to initially be patient for that pick momentum to get going, but once you do, you've got an advantage over everyone else.

If Danny has job security, and Wyc and co. are willing to be patient, you can take advantage of everyone's focus on today and over-discounting of tomorrow.

maybe bot injuries but I would like Doc to continue his inept coaching and for age to catch up on Kg and PP.

This is seriously unbelievable. I took a nap woke up and its back on again? What i am wondering in the KG part of the deal (whenever that happens) can we get their 25th pick in this draft as well? Or will they maybe just draft for us and send the rookie in the deal?

There's a small handful of capable coaching candidates out there that can hopefully, with Rondo, work to alleviate the stagnate Celtics offense I've been watching.

Agreed.
