Pierce contract guaranteed if traded?

I'm on an iPhone so can't really link but I just read a story stating that Pierce's full contract is guaranteed if he is traded.  Just curious as to whether this is true, because many have suggested trading pierce to a team that wants to she salary.

I'm curious to this as well. Right now on the front page of the hoopshype rumor section it says that if Pierce is traded to the Cavs, his entire contract would be guareenteed. Kinda defeats the purpose of trading pierce to a team that needs cap relief.

Interesting.  I've never seen this reported on any of the salary sites, but that doesn't mean everything.

I don't know if I trust it. If he is dealt before the 1st, I believe he can be bought out.

not true everything says he can be bought out if dealt thats why the contract is so important.
