Is this true???

Sean, Obstruction carries a 7-10 sentence I believe. Either way he's done with NFL football and his paydays are gone too. We will no doubt be issuing him an EBT card in a few years.

Good player but a bad guy. As a lifelong working stiff, it really gets under my skin when guys like this get a huge amount of money and then p--- their lives away with other scumbags in dumpy strip joints and bars. Then they need guns to "be the man" and they end up in big trouble. He'll never know how good he had it until he's getting a Buttafuco in Cedar Junction

The real tragedy will be solidified when we learn why Odin Loyd was murdered. One man was willing to trade his successes and a lucrative income that would have more than provided for his family forever, for another man's life. What could possibly be the reason that was so severe to make that exchange? Even if AH was not the murderer, it's almost certain he was at least an accomplice, he will never see his millions, and will probably get sued for everything he already received from his Patriots salary.

Pierce as a kid grew up in the 'hood and once during a game gave the opposing bench a "gang sign" with his hand/fingers. It really pushed buttons with the opposing team. He was reprimanded and didn't do it again as far as I know. But that culture is alive and not well with him even as an adult. Hernandez appears to have lived the "gangsta life style" even as an adult while off the field. Maturity and common sense apparently weren't his strong points. A promising life in a promising young man...all for naught. What a waste.

AH is a product of our society at it's worst. American culture has placed too much emphasis on professional athletics. Many gifted athletes, like AH, began receiving preferential treatment in early childhood. Unfortunately, the adults in our children's lives often fail them. This is a sad situation for everyone involved.

olice in nearby Providence, R.I., said they had assisted Massachusetts state police and North Attleborough police with activity related to the Hernandez investigation at a strip club named Club Desire. It was unclear if they believed Lloyd and Hernandez might have been at the club in the days before Lloyd died. A reporter was escorted out of the club Friday afternoon before she could speak with employees or patrons. - See more at: http://bostonherald.com/news_opinion/local_coverage/2013/06/lloyds_family_patriots_hernandez_was_friend#sthash.LXOoFNSt.dpuf

The Aaron Hernandez saga this week reminds us how little we really know about the athletes we cheer, revere, fawn over, elevate to impossible and sometimes ridiculous heights, and too often idolize. All while the people we should idolize go ignored, underpaid, even reviled. - See more at: http://bostonherald.com/news_opinion/columnists/2013/06/borges_gods_of_the_game_still_mere_mortals#sthash.lBP93GlV.dpuf

So predictable. A night at a strip club ends up in murder! So cliche even a hack novelist wouldn't touch it. This is what happens when you give a bunch of cement heads millions. For a guy who's supposed to be adept at recognizing patterns...he sure missed this one.

If the Patriots didn't get rid of this guy it would send a horrible message.

Hernandez is going down for the murder as an accessory or an accomplice. I've been told he has a morals clause in his contract. The Pats dodge a, "bullet," and now can drop Hernandez, a regular on the DL, and his unjustified contract.

Whats interesting is after the cops leaked so much info and there was supposed to be an imminent arrest, it still hasn't happened.  Hernandez has major league legal representation with Ropes & Gray, so you have to wonder what they can pin on him.

This stuff about the 'Patriot Way' is a load of crap.  Its just like the NBA, you want as much value (i.e. talent) as possible on your roster given the constraints of the cap.  This means you try to buy low and sell high.  Why do people slip in draft?  Character issues etc.  At the end of the day when the choice is between character and ability, it all comes down to winning for the Pats or any other team.

The 'Patriot Way' is a media/pr invention and its a crock of crap.
